Unhappy

Lads and Lasses, this is not good at all, I'm writing this whilst deciding what to do...any help please :frown:

I got a slow puncture today and phoned all 24hour companies who change tyres, but no one can source a 205/45 ZR 17" as Pirelli are the only company to make this type of tyre (P0) and they cannot get enough into the country. I'm now stuck in Essex more than 100miles from home with this ****e trainer wheel which looks like the car will scrape the ground if I move it

All ideas considered and tyres bought if you live near Brentwood, sell me a wheel please !

Hi Mr Monster,

Can the tyre not be repaired?

You may want to try 'tyre weld'. I have a can in my boot for emergencies, i.e. when it is raining and I get a puncture. It basically fills the tyre with a foam which sets hard, and allows you to drive home. I don't know whether it is possible to repair the tyre once this stuff has been used, but it will at least get you home.

It costs about £5 from Halfords.

CM
the tyre weld is only supposed to be used up to 30mph at least the silly skinny wheel is good for 50mph. I've used the silly wheel before on Std suspension MY99 no probs but 50 mph is a bit crap andy boy does it look DAFT!!

Hey guyz,

U don`t wanna use that stuff (tyre weld), 1 of my m8s that works in a well known tyre depot showed me the mess it makes inside a tyre when used He also told me it`s a pain in the 4rse 2 repair the tyre with the stuff in it and is charged accordingly...

Thumbs up

I suppose the tyre weld is still handy to carry in case of 2 punctures.

I'm thinking of getting some just in case. You never know.

Scotty.

The space saver will be OK, I once drove from Wales to Essex with one fitted.

If you are stuck, give me a call and I can lend you a full size wheel.
