For sale or swap - fastest scooby?
#1
Further to my previous posts, this is the definitive version:
My car is as follows:
Late 95 Impreza Sti 2 Type RA Lightweight in white.
39,000 miles
Scoobysport Backbox
ITG Filter
Pagid grooved discs and pads
16" Advan 5-spoke Competition alloys
Front and rear Carbon fibre strut braces
Short-shift close-ratio gearbox
Adjustable centre differential
Intercooler water spray
Roof mounted ait vent
Sti logo seats and interior
Nardi steering wheel
Air conditioning
High-rise rear spoiler
Lightweight body panels and windscreen glass
Aluminium bonnet and boot
Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser
Private plate - M9 WRX
A1 condition, cherished car.
Always serviced by me at Scoobysport, Silkolene or Mobil one always used.
Car was given its major, £700 45,000 mile service at SS when I bought it at 33,000, for my peace of mind and the car's longeivity.
Power 280 Bhp approx with mods (276 standard)
Weight 1200kg (Subaru official figure)
= Power/weight ratio of 233Bhp/tonne
Compare with:
Impreza P1 - 219 Bhp/tonne (and longer gearing...)
UK Impreza Turbo - 177 Bhp/tonne
Evo VI - 204 Bhp/tonne
BMW M5 - 236 Bhp/tonne
(Figures from EVO magazine)
ie. I think it would be a fair claim to say that this is possibly the fastest basically standard Impreza ever built. Later, heavier Sti Type Rs (same power and gearing, but and extra 70-80kg) have been timed by EVO magazine at 4.3 secs to 60 mph.
For sale I am looking for about £11,500.
But, as I have said before, Scooby values are c~~p currently, so I would be up for swapping my car for a later model WRX (preferably a 97 or later), or late model UK car.
Finally, if the right car comes along as a swap, i would be able to offer my car in addition to up to £1000 cash.
All negotiations would depend on the individual cars offered, accounting for age/spec/mods/mileage etc.
So, if you fancy one of the fastest most focused driver's scoobies around to brighten up your life, drop me a line at freemrh@hotmail.com
Don't be shy, I love to negotiate.
Cheers

I'd rather have a newer WRX than a standard UK Scooby. However, UK cars are still "quite" quick eh? (flame suit on)....
Seriously, it is through my inability to enjoy my car to the full (my other half hates it with a burning passion - as I said in my earlier post, the suspension makes her ***** bounce too much, and it has not been known for her to literally cry in terror when I open the car up in second. Suffice to say that a calmer car with vanity mirrors would improve my relationship) that I wish to change it for a less (slightly so) banzai model. My car is outrageouslu brutally fast and makes all my passengers feel sick. And no it is not my driving before any of you get started.
