OZ Superleggera group buy
#1
NO-ONE SEEMS INTERESTED SO I'M GIVING UP
AND BOUGHT ME OWN! SORRY!
---------------------------------------------
This seems to be the wheel everyone wants
right now...certainly I do...
It's light, nice design, made by OZ, isn't
too dark in colour etc....see the threads
elsewhere...
Question is...is there sufficient interest
in getting a group purchase going? Is it
feasible for wheels, could there be much of
a discount achieved for say 20+ sets?! Does
anyone know any of a dealer that could do
such a discount for such a large order?
Plus what we do about tyres? Wheel/tyre deals
seem a bit cheaper but not everyone would
want S02, or Toyo's for example...
Mike.

I Presume you realise that they do not make these in an offset to suit the Scooby?
Not at 18 inches, anyway. Maybe at 17 but I doubt it. You have to buy the Prodrive rims if you want OZ wheels....

Don't know where you got your non-compliant offset on 18" info from cos I already have several sets of 18" on order and the UK importers don't even know the exact offset yet!

I got the information from OZ UK directly. They don't currently make ANY wheels in the correct offsite (55 mm) for the Scooby at 18" other than the Prodrive items. They may have some options available in the second half of the year...

ie your wheels on order are going to scrub somewhere when you use them on a Scooby if not the correct offset....Ordering wheels without even knowing the offset seems a bit silly.
nb - if you want the number, OZ are on 0845 603 9245

I spoke to Motorsport Wheels and they say there will be an 18" with ET48 offset later this year, I have the 17" version currently fitted and they seem to have improved the steering etc. Perhaps the lighter weight helps. You do not need to have ET50 to 55 in 17" to fit under the arches.
Also the website you gave is the US importers site and not actually OZ themselve.
The US is not very representative of whats available in Europe where OZ are based.
This is the offical wesite address

'Also why do you insist ET55 is the only option. Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
Scoobs can take 45 to 55 mm offsets, standard MY98 type wheels are 52.5 (really odd!) I have 17's with ET48 on mine (MY98 UK with Leda - so it's low!) and with 215x40 tyres even with std suspension they used to catch the rubber sealing strip on the rear wheel arches...so I took the seals off, no more probs
I know an Sti V type R running 17's with a 45mm offset, 215x40 tyres and a Chassis Dynamics lowering kit with no clearance problems!
So don't get too het up about offsets and clearance, but do watch what happens to the handling as a result!!!
