Thanks for the comments guys. But would anybody like to comment on how much they think it's worth......
And in addition i do not understand the fuss created over the warranty aspect you can buy an additional 2 years warranty for £300.

Not as much as that... sorry! You can import a new MY01 for about £17k these days, so you're unlikely to get much over £14.5 for a year-old car.

Sorry mate...

Not looking to part-ex unfortunately and the car is just 6 months old and certainly worth more than £14500

Sorry mate. I am a keen price watcher.
Its worth 14K tops if its immaculate.
Sorry, and good luck. Import = worth a lot less, mad but market forces rule OK.

John,
This BBS is not the best place to sell a car because too many people here have strong opinions and most are not interested in buying. Try advertising in Autotrader, Exchange+Mart or Loot - people buying these publications are more likely to be people wanting to buy your car.

$14-15k max. I have just looked at personally importing a new MY01 from belgium and can get one for £16,384 with a 3 year pan European Subaru warrenty - and it comes with aircon, CD player and 17" alloys as standard . I'd still expect to lose money on it when I sell though .

geoffn,
The Belgium list price for a 4 door WRX with metalic paint is 838,694 Belgium Francs. The current exchange rate gives 64.7516 BEF to evry £1 which equals £12,952.48. After adding UK VAT at £2,266.69, delivery charge (to Belgiun) £400, UK registration and road tax £200, Cat 1 alarm £300 and my/your collection costs £100. Total = £16,219.19 On The Road To get the best price, you have to do all of the work yourself, but the savings are worth it.

£16,218.19 for a new WRX with metalic paint is obtainable at todays exchange rates.

Exclamation

If the car mint it is worth no more than £14k, it would not be worth any more to dealer unless the car they were selling you was over priced, and I don't think a UK is worth much more either. Remember £14.5K is all a MY2000 was costing new so whatever it sells for you haven't lost too much money especially compared to a UK car.
