Thanks for the comments guys. But would anybody like to comment on how much they think it's worth......
And in addition i do not understand the fuss created over the warranty aspect you can buy an additional 2 years warranty for £300.

Talking

You Pratt it has little or no relivence what the guy payed for it. It is EXACTLY the same as a UK car but with one years Warranty not three.

Could go on but won't

Thumbs down

£16500 is a good price for the car if it was UK sourced, but it isn't.

A dealer would offer a far lower price because it is an import (or maybe nothing!)so why should a private buyer be any different? After all, when the buyer comes to sale time or tries to trade it in, he will be faced with the same problems. This has to be reflected in the price.

Sad but true.

Red face

Tal, you are out of order mate. No point being offensive just because you wish your car is worth more. A Euro import will always be worth less than a UK car for a variety of reasons. If a buyer is looking for a UK turbo, and sees many around the same price, he/she will not pay the same price for a same spec euro import as everyone knows what price they were bought for. In today's market buyers can afford to be discerning - they will not pay like for like for a euro car. Just be happy that you got a great new car at a great saving - whoever buys it from you will expect something similar.

Colin,Floyd,tractor,
I have to agree with you on this. That price "could" be more than he payed for it when new !!!

Tal,
If someone purchased the car and did not know that it's not "exactly" the same and had problems, it could prove very costly to them.

Incidentally how many UK Subaru dealers have serviced your vehicle ? I agree the car's the same, but they don't see it like that

I would like to point out that I have a UK car but am looking at the import route for my next, but I am fully aware of the difference........

I bought an Impreza turbo (so called import?!?) from Holland and I must say it is not the same as a UK car!

Why??? Well, it only has a 1 year warranty, no alarm and does not have locking wheelnuts.... So what.....

I can buy a 2 year warranty for £395.

Scotty with £5000 spare change in his pocket! And a car might I add; now identical in every detail to a UK model.

PS: What a boring, old and tired issue....

Seems a little unfair, regardless of what people may think, that a bloke who is trying to sell a car has his post ambushed by people telling the world that it is not good value. If you feel so strongly, why not visit a few dealers and change the prices on the forecourts, or alternatively, save these comments for the never ending discussions on this subject in the general forum.

Webmaster, could we have an Icon depicting a yawn please!!

Peter.
