Sensibly modified classic wrx For Sale....
Hello all.
The time has come, after nearly 4 years with the Scoob, to move on and sell my car….
The car is a '93, 4 door WRX in silver and has covered a total of only 78,000, lower than average miles, with a full service history from Scoobysport & latterly Xtreme Scoobys since being imported in 2000, as well as previous Japanese history. The car, as well as quick, is also practical and reliable for everyday use, and has never missed a beat or had a problem.
Usual Standard features include;
Air-con,
Climate control,
4x Electric windows,
Electric mirrors,
Full set of original mats,
Remote central locking,
Category 1 alarm & immobiliser.
Modifications include;
K&N induction kit,
Scoobysport group A down-pipe,
HKS Superdragger, 3 inch bore de-cat exhaust,
Helix Organic clutch,
Lightened flywheel,
STi uprated shock absorbers and lowering springs,
Pagid front brake discs,
Later model 4 pot front callipers Pagid “Blue” pads all round,
Goodridge braided brake lines,
17” TSW multi-spoke alloys with nearly new Toyo TS1 tyres,
Prodrive geometry.
The engine, which in this case is the stronger closed deck block (shown by the embossed cross-hatching on the block), and ECU, remain as standard to ensure long term reliability. The exhaust is rated at 98db but also includes a separate tailpipe silencer for quieter noise levels, and also meets MoT emission standards even though it is de-catted.
Further improvements include;
Scoobysport front valance extension,
Side skirts,
STi version 5 high rear wing with integrated brake light,
Clear front indicators and side repeaters,
Integrated rear fog light,
Smoked rear windows,
Flip front Kenwood radio-cassette with a separate Kenwood 10 disc CD autochanger.
The interior is in good standard condition with a leather Nardi steering wheel and an alloy Razo gear ****. This has been a non-smoker’s car, and has always been reliably run on Optimax. The car comes with a private “555” registration and Tax & MoT until May 2005.
This is an honest car that I have looked after and improved. I’m the only UK owner other than the import dealer, and it has never been raced, thrashed or damaged. The sensible mechanical improvements allow the car quicker acceleration and improved handling over standard. Nearly new Toyo tyres are also fitted.
I am asking for £6,250 and will welcome serious enquiries &/or offers. I appreciate this may not be the cheapest price, but does reflect the improvements and reliability the car has.
I unfortunately do not have access to a digi camera, but do have a few photos I can email to any serious enquirers. I am located not far from Chelmsford in Essex, and can be contacted in the first instance by email - either iantrobinson@bigfoot.com or ian.robinson@cmgl.com
Sorry, but I am not interested in part exchanges as I have a replacement car on the way, and I’m similarly not interested in swapping or selling any parts separately.
Thanks for your interest.

This is a great, reliable car that I'm reluctantly selling. If I could afford to keep her - as well as my new car - I would, as she still puts a smile on my face

Put it back to standard, sell it for £3500 and sell the mods for maybe £1000?
Some you can't easily do, such as clutch and flywheel, but take the fun you had so far as payment!

Cheer's guys, but I havent got the time, or in most cases the std parts, to put her back. Besides, she's a great package of a car as she is.... only a lack of engine upgrades - that I've chosen to keep near std for long term reliability against the compromise of a few 10ths of a sec acceleration and a few more horses that you dont realisticly see when driving.
If anyone's interested, feel free to get in touch by email or PM. I'm happy to discuss viewings & reasonable offers...

Pic on their way Grant - Cheers
Hi Nate ! Yep, that was me I've seen your "patrol" around a few times... Yup - in the same boat, selling the earlier cars. I just hope people understand that just because they may be a little older than others, they're no worse-a-buy & not worth peanuts, particularly as they're still lower than average mileage & in just as good a condition as later cars Hope your sale goes well for you too mate.

Thanks for hosting the pics Grant, & cheers for the comments
The wheels are TSW 17", & the front lights in the pics had carbon edged style lens prodectors, but unfortunately one sacrificed itself in the line of duty - saving me the cost of a new headlamp - & I'm told they dont make the same style anymore
The only other change is new lettering on the sunstrip, & my name & the flag have been taken off the side windows

Hi Nate, Yep, pretty distinctive I'm over in South Woodham Ferrers though. We took the pics earlier this year. My mate bought a new camera & wanted to take some pics so picked a good local backdrop... Not much choice in SWF..

Cheers Grant, but unfortunately no... I've already got the Scooby's replacement waiting to be delivered, a rather nice R33 Skyline
I'm a Nissan owner now as well.... Thanks for your interest though

Price reduced...
Ok, guys & girls.... Need to make way for the new car now, so I'm reducing the asking price for my Scoob.
This is a great car with loads still to give to a new owner I'd like to see £5,500 ovno, so drop me a PM or mail...
