Talking R reg rover 600 1.8i 1 owner fsh £400

met green,
immaculate condition
98k on the clock
taxed & mot'd
full tank of petrol

BAD points, there is a problem with engine,
the wheel where the fan belt goes needs fixing/replacing
dont really know anything about engines,

it would need towing away
still a bargain @ £400

Hi mate,

I'm very interested

"there is a problem with engine,
the wheel where the fan belt goes needs fixing/replacing"

Can the engine still be heard running though?

right then update on the engine problem,
the bracket that fixes the wheel/pulley thingy to the engine has come loose,
it needs fixing back on to the engine
I will get some pics when I have a chance, but it is really immaculate,

apples, come on it really is as clean as I say it is, 2 new tyres, 10 months mot, 1 owner, full rover service history, never been smoked in, no dents,no scratches, no fading, no signs of any rust, no rips, no staines, interior is just as blemish free as the bodywork, you will not be dissapointed at £400 its even got a full tank of petrol!

I asked someone for a better description of the fault, and he said that it is the bottom crank thats attached to the pulley which was knackered, where the bolt attaches it to the engine has come loose and it would need rethreading with a larger thread,
I dont know if that makes any sense at all
cheers

thats an engine out job mate, and if you cant rethread its new crank time, which actually means cheaper to buy a sec hand engine

mac76 the bottom pulley bolts onto the crankshaft

the thread is knackard so ie if cannot be rethreaded needs new engine or new crankshaft and shells etc, sec hand engine is easier

engine has to be removed to be rethreaded

guys thanks for the interest, havent got any pics yet sorry, I did ask at a garage today if they could fix it and they said that it would cost £150, they have a guy who goes to them to do rethreading, if no one has the car in the next couple of days then I will tow the car to him, if he fixes it then fine, if he dont I will get rid of it for peanuts
