VF22 Turbo - Bargain
#3
"Dave, is this the VF22 that you said made smoke rings from the back of the car about 10 feet across?
Get it polished, mount it on a bit of nice looking wood and keep it on the living room table."
You never responded to Murphy 280's accusation so I can only assume it's true.
Sorry, but I dont like to think of fellow Scoobynetters getting ripped off. If what he said is not true and the unit is a good'n then you should say so.

My sincere apologies to Dave P best I can do is bring the ad back to the top.
Giles, sorry for not spotting the joke in your very helpful post. I was brought up to expect jokes to be funny.

Mark_S As my ad does indeed say, "the turbo has done 1000 miles and is as good as new".
Murphy 280 is a mate and was joking in his previous post(Im not sure any turbo would blow smoke rings, never mind ones 10 feet accross!!)
I need to find a home for this guys...Any sensible Offers please??

Hi Dave,
Still loving the HKS. Will the VF22 fit my MY96 UK? What is the difference between a VF22 and the turbo I've already got? Will I need to change any more parts when I've fitted it? Is it a matter of unbolting the old one and slapping the new one on or is it a major job?

Rich, it isnt that simple on your car.
You have a td04 turbo.
Made by mhi, the vf series are made by ihi and have different pipe work. Oil feeds etc.
I believe that you would require the later spec manifold to route the inlet pipe underneath to the air filter which at the moment runs behind it on your car.
Easiest turbo for you to fit would be a td05 as found on similar aged wrxs. It is among teh biggest standard impreza turbos and flows a lot of air!
