Top Notch Brake Upgrade
SOLD
Give Your Scoob the Stopping Power it Deserves and Needs!
Almost new, front only Brembo brake kit from an Sti8, with fewer than 800 miles. Includes calipers, back plates, standard pads, 330mm discs and all fittings. Ideal upgrade for New Age Scoobies; will also fit Classics, I believe, with 17/18/19 inch wheels although some modification needed (4/5mm spacers).
Cost new would be well into four figures – these are on offer for around £800 (and I might, just might, even be willing to haggle because they have to go). Email me at:

long time
Ah, Donutman - it's been a long time, has it not? Hope you are well? I see things still move damn quick on this board - so thanks for the bttt.
Anyone think I'm asking too much, or is it simply that no-one's looking to upgrade right now? Feel free to air your views - I've got (metaphorically) broad shoulders.

Hi mate. It may be a good price but you've got a few things against you. Firstly its a lot of money for s/h kit, and secondly its coming up to christmas so everyone's probably skint!!
Maybe it's just me, but I actually quite like the standard WRX brakes...
Having said all that, if I'd had the cash I would have had them off you - i'm even local (Hessle )

good point
Thanks James - you may well be right. I know the New Age Scooby brakes are good (certainly when compared to the Classics) but the Brembos are a BIG step up. If someone with a Classic is handy enough, it's not (apparently) a tough job to fit 'em - and that's a MASSIVE step up.
Still open to offers, everyone!

more info
A few peeps have mailed asking about fitting to a classic. I'm told they will with spacers, but don't know if you need bigger wheels (17 or 18s). I found this on the P1 site which may answer some of your questions:
"I have fitted brembos from V8 STi on my P1 with the 18" prodrive wheels. All I had to do was make up a spacer - for this I used old subaru brake discs. I machined the centre of the disc down to 4mm thickness and then took the centre out of the disc. This spacer fits on the outside of the brembo disc secured with the C/s screws and the wheel goes over the top. I have had no problems with wheel/arch clearance.Wheel to caliper clearance looks a bit tight so if I did it again I would make the spacer 5mm.
On the back its a bit more hassle. The brembo caliper bolt centres are completely different and the brembo disc handbrake drum is 1" bigger than wots on the P1. I have got complete hub/hand brake assemblies off a version 8 and will be fitting them this weekend
With just the fronts fitted the car has been transformed. This is what should have been fitted straight out the factory. It even hurts me eyes when I slam the anchors on hard."
