Yeh, but correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't you pay only about £16K for it new??

You could buy a full UK one for that and have the remainder of the UK warranty..

yeah right, my local dealer have just sold an x plate 00 my for £18,000. I think comments like that are not constructive and just help to knock resale value on all scooby's no matter where they are sourced from.
good luck with the sale, Tim

Glen,

I don't think that could possibly knock the resale value of all Subaru's!! I think you'd have to blame the Japanese car importers, people buying European cars, Subaru dealers for offering low trade in prices and Subaru UK not getting enough cars in!! You can hardly blame someone who has always bought UK Subaru's!!

I should be pissed off as it's the UK car prices that have tumbled!!

Having seen quite a few UK MY00 at £17-18k, on a dealers forecourt, how much is it worth privately?? Say a £1-2k off by selling privately for a UK car would put it at about £16k-ish!

Where does that put a European car, costing £16k new??

My car a UK MY99 with 20,000 miles, air con, Prodrive Suspension, Prodrive spoiler and P1 wheels was valued at £13k by a dealer. It would be on the forecourt for about £15-16.

By not mentioning it, I'd still get screwed by the dealers, by mentioning it, it makes other buyers aware!

These aren't heady days of 1998, when there was next to no depreciation! When my car is about 3 years old, I stand to lose about £9k, which is about 45% of the value of the car, which is still pretty good in car terms!

I hope this is more contructive!

Andy

PS - Sorry Tim, I didn't mean to **** on your parade, and I hope my previous comments weren't too flipant!

Sorry guys if my comments were flippant, but still meant what I said. You just need to price the car at the current market value, and its not worth >£15K. It is worth however, whatever someones willing to pay for it.

Good luck

I know that euro imports are cheaper and you only get a 1 yr warranty but.......
i have a euro imported turbo, MY00 with 14k on the clock, it has the following!
Full subaru service history inc body check!
air con
2k's worth of security!! (live in crappy area)
prodrive alloys
prodrive performance pack!

now i paid 18k new for my car, with the aircon and the ppp id still expect 16k for mine plus the added bonus of decent security! and not one thats been put on by a dealer (even though it may be cat one, most dealers put systems in the same way)

and after 3 years both cars are going to be worth the same, just due to the fact that the uk warranty has run out and most ppl cant be ar5ed buying a new one cos it costs money!!

Hi Tim,
You will be reassured to know that I have just sold my MY 4/00 for £16000 and it had 16000 miles on it too.Imported from Holland it is still an attractive price for the right buyer.Advertised it in Top Marques sold in 1 week.

Don't listen to these guys who harp on about it not being worth it! I've just proved it, without a warranty!
So hang out and don't give it away.
Chris.
