Hi everyone,
Just picked up my first turbo scooby, an MY98 estate. Before I had an MY02 GX.
Problem is Ive just spent an hour swapping my 18's off the MY02 for the 16's on my MY98. Now its rubbing!
Is anybody out there in the market for a set of 18's, or would be interested in a sort of part exchange. The wheels are 6 months old and mint!
PM me for any info or to discuss
Chris

17" wheels will rub too as the circumference will be the same (higher profile tyre) you'll have to change the tyres whatever, unless you can swap with a classic owner (who will then have to change tyres themselves)

For the rolling circumference of the tyres, try WWW.TYRESAVE.CO.UK.
You have to enter the tyres section to see the option for the calculator.
IMO 225/40s is too big. Assuming 18s with 50-53mm offset, I'd go for 225/35s or 215/35s. My current 225/35s are rubbing on the wheelarch liner seal-thingies on the outside lip - which are getting replaced. Time will tell if it was the seals moving or the tyre shoulders rubbing them.
If your wheel offset is 45mm or lower, I reckon you'll need to roll the arches or exchange the wheels and/or tyres.
