Does being an EU import increase the insurance costs as happens with other imports?

Not as far as I'm aware. Because the car is identical to the UK cars(unlike the grey imports) the parts prices etc are the same. And unlike grey imports Subaru dealers cannot turn you away without risking problems for the parent company with the European Commission like VW had a few years back. I've had no trouble. My insurance is £750 quid for me+girlfriend from Admiral. I'm 36. Maybe I could do better, I don't know. Hope this helps.

T-Tree,

Insuring an EU import is exactly the same as insuring a UK car. My insurance actually went down when moving from a UK MY1997 to a EU MY2000 I didn't question this too much - I guess it was to do with the CAT1 Alarm on the later car.

Cheers,

Ian.
