The wheels will fit straight on to the earlier models but, I belive the tyres need to be 215/40 17 or 205/45 17 to acheve the same (close to) rolling radius.
So I don't think these will fit a "classic" shape Impreza with as they stand.
Sorry.
The side wall(40) is a percentage of the tyre width(225).
So a 40 sidewall is smaller on a 215 width tyre than 225. Hence a higher rolling radius and the speedo reading incorectly.
Hope this doesn't put anyone off as they look really good with the correct tyres.

Just to dispel the myth these will fit the early shape impreza.
I should know I have them on my 95 car and they dont rub even when fully loaded.
The tyre size isn't quite right and will throw your speedo out slightly but beyond this,no one who replied to my thread a few months ago could come up with a reason not to fit them.
They also look pretty cool IMHO on the old shape car.
At £500 they don't sound to bad.Hope you sell them soon
