Default sti prodrive ecu

happy new year all.
the missus is on a house clean out mission and has just dug this out and told me to sell it or do something with it lol. aaah youve got to love em!
right open to offers on this if you look back to the beginning of my posts i sold this on here once before but the guy who bought it said he plugged it in but it wouldnt start his car, so he brought it back and i refunded his money. he didnt however try getting his key recoded to the ecu which i had to do on my new car when i had the PPP fitted so it may well have worked had he done this.
youll see it came off a MY98 RB5 and im open to offers on it. ill sell it on the same basis as before if you find it doesnt run youre car then ill refund ya money as i dont expect anyone to have to keep something that dont work.case is a bit tatty but who sees it under ya carpet.
its just a shame for it to sit under my stairs if it can give someone a bit of extra ooomph!.
post ya offers and see how we get on.
regards
Andy

Is it from a RB5 registered in '98??

The reason I ask is that there's a BIG difference between MY98 and MY99/00 cars as there was a change from Phase 1 to Phase 2 engines. The ECU's are non-interchangeable between the engine changes.

The RB5 was a Phase 2 car i.e. MY99 onwards. Some may have been registered at the end of 98 and some as late as 2000, but the car itself was launched in 99.

So saying it's a MY98 RB5 gives conflicting info - '98 suggests phase 1 car and RB5 suggests a phase 2

i see stephan well when the chassis no. was checked at my local dealer it came up as a MY98 RB5 but saying that i tried it on my old car which was a MY99/00 and it ran it ok apart from it started hunting so i had to get a new MAF then i never tried it on again so i would say its a MY99 ecu.

sorry about my inbox forgot to empty it.

Funnily enough, I bought a PPP ECU from john banks and my car did the same thing Turned out to be a dodgy O2 sensor, but I guess swapping the ECU's just highlights an already faulty sensor.

right folks a lads tried it on his MY99 car and it starts the car but wont tick over unless ya rev it. It is showing "error code 24" which im told is the idle control valve so im assuming the ecu must be faulty as this is what it did on my car aswell. I'll see if the problem can be resolved and ill let ya know.
