According to previous posts (I checked first) - yes.

Also just asked someone in the trade, and they said yes too, and they have seen several sets actually fitted on older cars.

Does anyone know if it's possible to fit a set of 15" Subaru Alloys in a 4 door?

Will I have trouble with allignment if I put the 17" wheels straight on?

Perhaps I should try and squeeze the 17" wheels into the back of the car instead of driving the 100 or so miles back on misaligned wheels?

Mind you, if I play my cards right, I have a collegue who is going over Colchester way this week. I could try and get him to ut them in the back of his Astra.

Right.....

4 17" wheels/tyres will stack on the rear seats of a 4 door with the seats up or down (on some polythene.....) - I know, cos i've done it.

Suspension/steering alignment will be totally unaffected. IIRC, I think there is 2mm difference in offset between MY01 and MY00 wheels which won't make any difference. It's within the max offset tolerance.

I've just found out that the 17" wheels + the 215/45 RE011 tyres would rub on the wheels arches of my MY97 (and make the speedo read incorrectly).

So as an appoligy to the seller for wasting his time I thought I'd let everyone know they are available for sale again.

My loss will be anothers gain I'm sure

Unfortunately I think the decision has been made. There are people cueing up to buy them off him and I'm not going to mess Dave round anymore.

I'm just going to live with my standard 15" wheels for now. I have had to put new rubber on every one of them so I'd better get my moneys worth out of them. If I hadn't have had to put tyres on the 15" wheels only 2 weeks ago I'd have risked it but sanity prevails (and the threat of a hefty right hook for the girlfriend).

Someone else will be the lucky one.
