Garage tidy-up.

One very slightly kerbed RB5 alloy wheel, no tyre. Easy repair (accoring to two Subaru dealerships) or could be used as 17" spare wheel.

Was on previously owned RB5 & I kerbed it at one week old. Immediately replaced the wheel therefore, it only covered a couple of hundred miles. Wheel has been boxed in garage for 2 years.

Summary: V.slightly kerbed original RB5 alloy, NO tyre offers around £50 plus carriage. Sorry don't have a piccie of wheel, may be able to sort one out if required.

Come on all you RB5 owners or folks with 17" antracite wheels.

This'll give you a full size spare or if you have a badly kerbed alloy this one'll be better.

Sorry, didn't get the chance to find out any carriage prices today. Did have a quick look on one website last nite & it said £29.99. I am sure it can be done for much less than this.

How much of the rim is damaged, if not too bad I would be very interested as it would do for a spare for my RB5, I am in stirling this weekend, Where are you. Piccy of damage would be nice if you can manage it.

Damage is on the outside of the rim & does not go in as far as where the tyre sits against the rim. It was rubbing against a kerb that did it when the RB5 I had was only days old (don't have it any more as it was a company car & I've changed jobs since).

As it was a new car at the time & the kerbed wheel did spoil it, plus I put the new one on expenses, I had it replaced.

To cut a long story short the damage is shallow scrapes - about 3 of 1/2" (15mm) & one in between them at about 1 1/2" (60mm)

I'll try to take a piccie tomorrow & see if I can upload it on here. I am only 20 miles from Stirling & can arrange to meet up if you want.
