Yep airfilter a bit redundant!

Not impressed as yet - but then my turbo is maxing at 1.2 bar - instead of 1.5 bar - need an adjustable actuator - no end to the expense on these cars!

ok I've just had a quick butchers at the blitz site and it looks like its only the filter. I know this may sound silly but what sort of performance increase wil I get or will it just improve tourque and throttle response? (myuk97turbo) and will it / how easy is it to fit?

Sorry - just been on hols in France- not that it was a good holiday as I was involved in a high speed head on collision - but managed to walk out of it...

Thank god I was not in the Scoob - as I'd be dead now......

Christian - you should now have mail re the HKS

Dave - sent you mail - no they dont fit pre 97 cars

Dizzy - its very, very easy to fit. Re performance upgrade - very little - but then people get it for the fantastic noise it makes!

Both still for sale - pending emails

Hmmm

depends when in 1997 I think. There was a changeover of design I think in this year. If its a late 97 then I think it will.

Could always try Racelogic and see which one they would get for you? - the pre/post 97

Unhappy

Before I start, sorry Steve.

I had an HKS induction kit fitted to my MY99 from new for 4000 miles and I had to replace the MAF sensor twice in this time.

This is a common occurance on the later models with the hot film MAF sensor, particularly with those fitted with induction kits, HKS in particular.

I'm not posting this to stir up trouble but I still have the HKS kit in my garage and if anyone wants to break their maf sensor they can have it for free. I certainly wouldn't dream of trying to sell it.

Incidentally, I changed to a K&N cone with STi trumpet and have had no trouble since.

If anyone wants these, they fit MY99 onwards
but you have been warned.

Pot
Interesting

You are the only person I have ever heard of who has had this problem. I've heard that the problem, potentially existed - if you fitted the filter incorrectly, due to vibration and hence MAF problems. Some people (including garages do not know how to fit them correctly. I had mine fitted by a Japanese tuning outfit, only to have Bob Rawle refit it, as mine was fitted badly! (not my problem if incompetence prevails, on other peoples cars!)

However I had the filter on for several months, know loads of people who have these filters and dont know anyone, first hand who has had a problem with them, then again I only know a few hundred Scooby drivers, so what should I know....

However, I have a Link, so dont use the MAF sensor anyway..., but I know it is'nt damaged.

The only reason I moved away to an APS (cone) was that my front mounted intercooler piping would not fit over the HKS, or Blitz filters, otherwise I would not be selling them.

Thumbs up

Steve,
I'm glad to hear you know loads of people running an HKS induction kit with the hot film MAF who have had no problems.

If nothing else my comments has highlighted care needs to be taken when fitting and expert advice sought.
