Default Cheap Commuting/Station Car

I've got a Peugeot 205 XRDT for sale. K-reg, 3-dr, Red, PAS, CL, Sunroof, Radio Cassette. Its a turbo diesel so its surprisingly nippy but economical (50+mpg)

The car has been used as a commuter car running between Luton and N.London for a couple of years covering 30k miles in that time, its now showing 115,000 miles and I have a folder with all the service history, previous MOTs etc, including invoices for a fair whack spent in the last couple of years. This was because the car has had anything that might fail replaced before it caused a breakdown, so its had a cambelt, clutch, bearings etc all taken care of by a Peugeot/Citroen specialist, plus regular 6k servicing. Its starts on the button and is mechanically excellent. You won't find a car of this age that's had the care lavished on it, this car has had. The tyres are 2 months old all round. It will have 13months MOT from the end of the month, Tax till Aug 05.

I'm in Edgware if you want to drive the car or if you have any questions, drop me a line via e-mail with your number and I'll call you back:- refropatton@hotmail.com

Price wise I'm looking for offers around £600.

This is a different proposition to a snail like 50hp 106, the 205 is I'll admit only 78hp, but with a turbo on it, this car will actually go uphill also.....Plus it has more room inside. Added to this my car has been very well cared for, and I have all the receipts to prove it.

Any pics - what year would that be (sorry should know)?

I need something like that for my son, 17. I wonder if being a turbo will bugger the insurance?

David, I don't have any photo's at the moment but I should be able to get some for you tomorrow, I'll borrow a digital camera and get some shots.

As regards the insurance I just had a look, and its a whilst its a group 8, that is the same as the non-turbo diesel. Even the 1.1 petrol engine is a group 6, and the often advocated cheap to insure 205 XS 1.4 petrol is a group 8 also.

If you want more info, let me know.

Oops forgot to say the car was first reg 16-03-1993. When I say I have full service history I mean all the receipts, even the original sales invoice. The most recent expense was 260 pounds on new tyres (avons) and tracking in November. Like I say no expense was spared on this car's servicing.
