Default H+S Slip jointed up-pipe

Bought this a couple of months ago but due to change in plans never fitted to car. It is nicely wrapped by the previous owner (Pavlo ) and comes without the MY01 onwards sensor take off so ideal for classics.

Bought for £85 and would ideally like that back (inc delivery).

What's this "slip-jointed" thing? I take it this is a direct fit over the OE unit?

Slip jointed allows it to expand and contract (like the OEM flexi section)... so you shouldn't have problems with blown gaskets that *some* solid pipes seem to suffer from.

And yes... direct swap.

Problem at the mo is i may have a blow in me OE up-pipe(are they prone to eventually letting go? it's a 93), so i could maybe take this if the bore isn't too much different?

I have an OEM pipe and the H+S in the garage, i could measure the bores of both if you like?

Tony.

Or you could have the OEM for a small(ish) charge

If you think you have a blow the uppipe it is likely gone. My 94 recently blew, and when I took the OEM pipe off I could see why. They flexi bit is made from some very thin gauge steel. You can't tell until you pull back the shielding.

p.s £85 is a good price - if you need one you could end up paying alot more.

Think i could go the H&S, but i'll take apart me OE tomorrow and have a gander anyways.

Can you measure the bore please Tony? Just out of curiosity.

Ok... had the tape measure out. The H+S is the 2" bore variety and the OEM seems to be about 1 3/4" .

Hope that helps.

It was the well-timed BTTT that did it.
