MY98 UK Classic 4-door for Sale
I've owned this car since new in October 1998 (after waiting 8 months for delivery). Sadly it must now go as I’ve just bought a 4 month old WRX- I felt I needed something younger for the amount of business mileage I’m currently doing.
So, it’s a 1998 S-reg UK Turbo 4-dr in red, with:
95,500 miles
Sigma CAT1 alarm
Recent Kenwood CD installed
Full Subaru main dealer service history (with all the invoices), except 82,500 miles where I just changed the oil myself. Last service was the second cambelt change at 90,000 miles – known as the pelican service because of the big bill (gedit? er…I’ll get my coat) in this case £1000.
Taxed till March, MOT’d till September
This car is completely standard, always garaged, never done a track day, still on the original discs (OK, OK , I know that’s a bit sad…), should be easy to insure, and an ideal starting point for someone to personalise in whatever way appeals to them.
Always washed by hand, and treated with Swissol carnauba wax, I’m very proud of the condition of the paint. Has never been in an accident, except for a very minor parking scrape which I had repaired by Chips Away.
OK so what are the bad points?
I was too tight to opt for aircon
Offside headlight lens has a small crack which occurred several years ago, I covered it with clear nail varnish and it’s held out ever since
Dent in the nearside front rim where I hit a kerb, again years ago, you have to look closely to see it and it doesn’t affect the balancing
Boot carpet is a bit skanky – I accidentally mislaid a packet of butter in there on a hot July day, and it’s never really come clean
Soft dent in the nearside rear door (not too bad - see picture) on the curve at door-handle height – tried a couple of paintless dent-removal guys but they both said it was obstructed behind.
This is a very genuine car and I’m looking for offers approaching £4995.
Any questions email me at gs40g@hotmail.com
