As you can see from my profile we have just started to have a family which is fantastic but a little earlier than expected, we are having a baby girl in July if all goes to plan. Unfortunately the Monaro is not baby friendly so I'm having to get something more practical as we can't get a baby seat in it due to the airbags so with a large amount of regret this is for sale. I'm used to Subaru Impreza's (had two) but I really wanted a car that was a little bit more special and the Monaro is exactly that.
I bought it new last summer (24/6/04) from Drive Vauxhall in Aldershot. It's in Impulse Blue (two coat metallic) which is rare as they don't do blue anymore, it's just a weekend car hence the low miles on the clock. It has had a £3,166 LSV Stage 2 upgrade + decat fitted plus a Wortec tune (£399) which results in around 410+bhp and over 400ft/lbs torque which means it is more powerful than even the latest 6 Litre VXR Monaro but for considerably less.
Stage 2 fitted here - www.lindenspecialvehicles.com/lsv-monaro.htm
Wortec tuned here - www.wortec.co.uk
Dyno'd here - http://abbeymotorsport.co.uk/
The performance is outstanding, the power to weight ratio (1646kg/410bhp) is 249bhp/ton which is more than a Porche 993RS (1270kg/300bhp) 236bhp/ton. Top speed is in excess of 170mph but I'd suggest that the M1 motorway is not the best place to try this out.
It's badged as a Holden and extras include a carbon fibre intake pipe which adds a few more ft/lbs of torque and Corvette style twin engine covers which reduces engine heat soak. Being a rare sight on UK roads means every fuel stop & shopping trip is a magnet for fellow petrol heads to gather round and ask questions, the Holden badges add to the mistique.
Apart from that it's 100% standard and in showroom condition, obviously fully loaded with cruise/climate/leather/TC etc and has the remainder of the 3yr Vauxhall warranty plus fixed price 1st service which is £150 at 10,000 miles.
It has already had two oil changes when it was in the garage having the stage2 upgrade as I firmly believe that you can't change the oil enough, especially when it's running in.
I'm a member of the HSV UK drivers club http://www.hsvdriversclub.co.uk/ and my car is featured on their website, plus it has been seen and photographed at several events such as the GT Racing series at Brands Hatch plus meets at the ACE Cafe London and Silverstone circuit.
This car is pictured in this months (May issue) Total Vauxhall magazine http://www.totalvauxhall.co.uk/ with various photos on pages 70, 72, 73 and I'm on page 74 wearing my Subaru jacket of course !
It's group 20 insurance but I currently pay £316 fully comp through Liverpool Victoria and I have had quotes from Admiral for £689 so it's quite cheap to run, I also see 30mpg on long motorway runs and about 20mpg round town.
Have a look at this link and the video clips to see what Topgear said about them:

I will consider a part exchange for a cheap family car (or another Scooby/Evo)

Thanks guys, I'm in no hurry to sell it because I love it and my babys not due till July ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just got to keep my options open, have got a TVR owner coming to look in the next few days.
It will also be at Silverstone when I'm watching the new 2005 "Emotional Engineering" race Monaro shakedown on Tuesday 22nd March

Unfortunately two stages from being supercharged ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Stage 3 is opening the engine and swapping cams & throttle body to give 100bhp over stock, however wave goodbye to any warranty.
Stage 4 is the supercharger, giving an additional 210bhp over stock, one comes to our club meets and its just awesome, sounds like a Rolls Royce Merlin Spitfire engine !
Drool over the new race monaro, we saw it last year at Brands GT racing against the Ferarris/911's/Morgans and it did really well.

Just taken a pic of the engine bay - very nice.
I have fitted a carbon fibre air intake pipe and twin "Corvette style" engine covers to reduce heat soak:

AND at this price I will throw in a free remap at WORTEC.CO.UK which will release even more power (~410bhp) and improve the already fantastic throttle control !!

It's going in for a remap tomorrow which should see 410-415bhp with a faster throttle response & a fatter torque curve. This baby will FLY.
Vauxhall are offering the remap in conjunction with Wortec.co.uk which is good news

WOW this baby flies now, the remap has changed the way the car drives and with over 400ft/lbs of torque it will pull the rubber from the rims.
MPG has also improved slightly, saw 31mpg from London to Leeds on the weekend which is amazing and its now cheaper to run than my old STi5 TypeR !!!
I don't think you can buy more performance for less money anywhere........
