Default 450+ turbo £850, headers x 2 £220, uppipe, cold air inlet package

Ion P450 turbo, with 1.2 bar actuator, low mileage, excellent condition. It cost $2300 last year plus taxes which really sting on this value. The P450 needs no introduction, as bolt on turbos go this is almost as big as you can go. I couldn't get 585 BHP out of it like Harvey, but you might On my 2.5 it did about 450 BHP comfortably on Optimax which is what it is rated for, it reached 1 bar of boost at 2800-2900 RPM with headers and AVC-R. It achieved about or a little better than what a 20G could do really wrung out with octane booster and methanol, but it did it on plain Optimax running stress free. The trim of the compressor is arguably better suited to a high boost 2.0 - if you have a built motor you could go far with this especially if you use race fuel, but you don't need to be that ambitious to enjoy this turbo.

Modified MRT inlet pipe to fit which is cosmetically a bit rough, it is sleeved to allow easier removal - it is leak free and fits the Ion. APS CAK with large K&N filter, filter is cosmetically dirty but still works well, could be replaced for about £30-35, I include it more to allow you to measure up - you can just get it into the wing, but it is tight, I probably have the old APS cone somewhere, again to allow measuring up, it is dirty, personally I don't clean cones if using a MAF. Gruppe-S headers and uppipe - wrapped, welded collector to uppipe and leak free for a long time. These are the big bore version 1. You can get them in by slackening an engine mount and jacking the engine up slightly.

£1200 ono for the lot?

One person asked for first refusal on the turbo, so I will inform him first, but would rather sell the lot whole.

I also have a set of small bore version 2 Gruppe-S headers/uppipe, but they are only part wrapped, I got them used and haven't used them, think I paid £220. Or if the buyer of the kit wants these I might have the version 1 welded available.

Any interest email me johnbanks@dsl.pipex.com

What outside diameter inlet is on the ION John??
Would you say it was suitable for a 2.0 running 1.5bar max?? or is that abit too low boost?

I think it is 76mm, anyway, the inlet pipe I have is sleeved to accept this.

2.0 running 1.5 bar should blow quite well, certainly it needs to be a reasonable sized turbo to do that at the top. That is a sensible limit on 8.x compression anyway I think.

£850 for the turbo?

The headers are both wrapped, both actually version 1, both are now availble. £220 either set. One set has welded up collector to uppipe so no leaks, and is wrapped, but the wrap needs refreshing. The second set has flexi uppipe and is quite freshly wrapped.

John,

Would this turbo be good on an sti 6 with 2.2 conversion? I'm currently running an MD304 but am looking to upgrade to a bigger turbo eventually.

Should be good on a 2.2 with a decent >7500 RPM limit.

John, you have PM on 22B, though from what I've learned the Turbo might not be what I need. However I would like the MRT inlet.... cosmetics don't worry me.

Oh,and I need it about this time last week !!!
