You made friends with Mike when he enquired about the clio did you???! (Please see thread below)
Must have been a life changing moment for him seeing as he changed his name from Jim!
Why are alarm bells ringing everywhere with me..or am I just paranoid

No alarm bells mate the clio was also his car (mikes) that I was posting for him as he was not a member then. He posted about the car when he joined scoobynet to get the car up to the top and try and get some interest in it.
The car is as it is described and there is nothing to be worried about all paper work is with the car and the car is in his name and any one who wishes to view the car will go to the address which is on the log book to do so
Cheers tomski2

Still doesnt really inspire confidence in me - used car buying is a minefield at the best of times without people trying to be clever.
Has he owned the car long, how many owners and when (year) and why was the engine changed (aware of likely cause)?

You would have to speak to him about owners and how long he has owned it. I can tell you the engine was replaced by bmw because of the nickasil problem that affected most of the cars in this year. It does not mean a complete new engine just the block, I know this because I used to own one and had the same problem.

Didnt want to 'bite', but "grow up" was not the answer I was expecting.
What is 'childish' about questioning a misrepresentation of the truth when someone is selling an item...if thats childlike innocence for you then I think I'll stick with it.

a 328i sport for £4300!!!! Man that is soo much car for the money. I had one of these a year ago. They are soo nice to drive, not too slow. Got the styling, nice wheels and cheap insurance. If your in the market for a reliable car then this has got to be it. I see you had the engine replaced due to the nikasil issue. This car will now run without many issues for many years.
I sold mione for £7,500 in november. Granded it was near engough a show car and had everthing done to it.
