Only 2nd Owner - Originally Imported from new by previous owner
70,000 miles

MOT 12 mths ( Sailed through both mot's it's had so far )
A very clean example - not modified in any way and always ran on Optimax. Usual chips on the front, nothing which couldnt be sorted for a few quid, can send photos on request.

Err, thats normal wrx for the year, AFAIK it's always been like that.
There was some confusion about whether it was 280 or 240bhp when i got it, so I checked the chassis number, and it's all correct. I dont think there were a huge number of 280bhp wrx's.. (?)

my 97wrx came with the midlevel spoiler but i think that was down to an optional extra from the jap owner
most of the other facelifted wrx`s i have seen have came with the smaller one, not sure about the very late ones tho!!
should have the sti rear lights in the back tho?

it has the half smoked ones if thats what ya mean! Sorry i'm not up on the intricacies of the many different models!

Hi Codek/ Hi everyone, I am a newbie and looking to buy a Subaru. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Can anyone tell me the difference between this wrx and a wrx sti as they are both 280bhp?

I'm in hertfordshire.
Not sure about the STI, however I believe the sti imports were all over 300bhp, was it the UK STI that was 280 by any chance? The differences between the uk and import wrx other than power are small things like aerial position and lights. Oh; and it has Air con as standard
Most of the wrx's were 260, but this was one of the last of the classic shape to come in from Japan and they clearly felt it should be one of the best I have double checked the chassis number against documents on the net, it all seems pukka! ( there was some confusion when i bought it too! )
I should have mentioned it's just had a brand new exedy clutch too, at £730 quid! And it has a UK double-din radio, when i got it it still had the Jap radio, which meant the frequencies were all out!!

All wrx after my97 are 280ps (276bhp) Not sure about wagons though.

Just a bit confused with the advert date of April 2005, and now it's back up for sale almost a year later? Are the dates incorrect? Is the mileage still the same as a year ago?
Interested, but just confused. What's the service history like, and how long you had it etc?

Anyway mileage now 78k, i've had the car 2 years, previous owner was another scoobynetter who had it from new. Full service history with scoobysports by the previous owner, and xtreme scoobies by me.
Call me on 07970 069017 if anyone wants a chat.
May throw it on ebay on Friday and see what happens.
Up for a part exchange and some cash, what have you got?
