Fair question.

40,000 miles
I'm the first UK owner (second if you include jap owner)
Full service record, mainly from AS Performance, receipts to proove.
Regular oil, filter, plugs, and belts done.
Tesco did it last year, was going to do it with Virgin UK this year, £600 fully comp.

Never dragged, tracked or battered about, but it goes like the clappers and is not your standard STI.

No Det or pinking thanks to Bob Rawle, mapped for UK 98 Optimax. mapped without octane booster but Bob Advised a shot of NF per fill up. I use NF every fill up!!

I have the RPM shift light set at 7100 rpm and it never gets ridden on max rpm.

The standard amount of tiny stone chips etc but all in all very good condition.

For references and quality assurance on this motor, ask at ASP, or anyone who might know me through TTS. I'm not a member but i know a good few of the lads.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Just been looking at the mlr, and saw your ad, figured it'd be over here too
Awesome sounding beast you have there. How long have you been running with over 400 bhp? Has it been reliable? Are you a mechanic by trade, and would you need to be to keep on top of the car?
BRD did my car, and it runs smooth as butter What is the performance graph like, where does the power kick in?
Phew! so many questions.
Finally, how do you get to insure it for only 600 quid through tescos, are you like 92 with 108 yrs ncb

chris.

(looking for a jdm my02/03sti)

I'm an engineer by trade so i do ALOT of maintenance on the car.

I'd call it day to day care, nothing more:
a. checking oil, water, fluids etc.
b. checking belts, seals, clamps and screws.
c. cleaning MAF (original, never replaced)

The car was built up last summer by a few people including AS Performance staff, Jonny Gav, me and a couple of Subaru techs who I know.

Was off road for a few weeks while all parts were added and then driven very slowly over night to Bob Rawles house/test centre garage! and was remapped, we took all day to do it as he had no one else that day and there was alot to do.

Problems i've had have been few and far between, loose bolt here and there, tightened and back to normal.

Never changed the MAF, never needed to, runs sweet, £40 gets me 270 miles. Very well mapped and very efficient.

Runs 3bar fuel pressure and holds tight at 3bar.

Knock link stays green at all times and to quote Bob, "the car is 'sparkley' but there is nothing wrong with that" He was very pleased with the results as i can remember, and we powered past every thing in sight as we flew up and down the dual carriageway near his home.

There were a few who tried to keep up and we tested and we thrashed everything without much effort at all.

Tescos...... 32, 8 years no claims, no points no nothing! i must have called on a good day.

This car is an aquired taste, but it is fast, reliable and very well built.

Sensible offers accepted

Are you entered in the scoobyshootout? You should be with that
From your description, you seem to have taken the car to it's limit on the reliability front, any further and you'd have to own a scooby garage I think
Just wish mine would sell, and I'd be driving around in a mini metro till I could get my hands on something like this
Hope it sells m8, so whats your next project then? More bhp?
btw, how much torque has that got? Have you had it on a rolling road? Would it stay on one
chris.

i just keep getting ideas for different cars and i fancy an evo for a while.

I was going to do the internals with this car but cannot justify the amount to do it, 2.5 is too under-developed for high HP if you ask me and i see evos in the US getting to 6/700 hp.

so time for a change.

I'd gladly offer a sellers fee to anyone who can help me sell the car.

Forgot to ask, you don't list any suspension or geometry mods on the top list. Have you done any? Is it still running on the standard stuff? Have you uprated the brakes at all?

Aftermarket 40mm drop springs, HKS. Standard OEM shocks.

Widened hubs by 10mm.

Its a firm ride alright and it sticks like glue. I didnt want coils over stec and this is the best of both worlds. No shattered bones.

Standard OEM Brembo brakes with OEM Brembo pads and discs.
