is this short block engine a direct replacement for a 97UK Turbo?

what work would be involved in getting it to run?

I ran it in my 1995 WRX for a while running 1.0 bar of boost with the TD05 turbo. Only things I changed was the injectors to 440cc, remapped the ECU, ported the headers properly etc. nothing majorly special.

In your car obviously you will need a gasket set, a bigger turbo than the TD04 prefably a TD05, already have the 440cc injectors, use existing stuff and buy a decent ECU such as Apexi.

I only ran 440cc injectors and guess power to be around 330bhp but with lots of midrange torque. As many 2.5 owners prob know the power is almost lagfree with a TD05.

A note the short engine is just the block, pistons, rods and crank. You will need to strip your existing engine to build your heads onto this one.

i currently have a VF34 turbo, i'd have thought the 2.5l engine would put an end to the lack of power off line before turbo spools up at 3K rpm?

EJ25 N/A engine or EJ257?

I think people are getting comfuse as to whether this is an OE 2.5 from the STI (US) of an old N/A block from a Legacy (UK)

Not the EJ257. Its the N/A block. With different pistons and rods (According to last owner).

Cheers,
Eddie.

Hi there , you say its the n/a block. A friend of mine has the 2ltr gx sport and wants to know if this will bolt right on and work ??? or will compression ratios be wrong for the n/a engine ??
