Default STI TYPE R VERSION 5 very special car

Subaru Impreza WRX STI TYPE R Version 5 1999 Gun |Metal Grey

This is an opertunity to buy an extremely rare car. This actual car was featured in CAR magazine and featured as the ultimate Subaru impreza pitched against RB5, 22B , P1 and uk STI, my car came out on top as the best Subaru money could buy.
It was featured on Top Gear and Top Gears at full throttle DVD pitched against the countries best cosworths this amazing Subaru was once again triumphant. It is also featured on many websites and even has web page dedicated to the car. This car is a serious piece of kit not for faint harted 0-60 in 4.2 sec and top speed of 160mph all recorded. The car was imported from new so has all MOT S and receipts this a genuine car with genuine mileage and lever arch file full of receipts and cars history. I am second owner and am reluctantly selling because of financial difficulties. so grab opertunity to buy great car at my loss :-(

All usual type r extras, rally shell, electronically controlled centre diff, quick rack steering, quick ratio group N gear box with short throw shift etc. sensible modifications fully adjustable leda suspension cost £4000 and was fully rebuilt @ cost of £1000 recently, gold 18” OZ superleggers alloys brand new with new toyo proxies, 330mm Brembo brakes with new pads, air filter , and one off custom ally exhaust very expensive, re mapped ecu. The car had full engine rebuild about 5000 miles ago at an unbelievable cost using uprated engine internals. new sti 9 crank, upratted big end bearings, billet eagle conrods, jp racing pistons, jp racing rings, Roger Clark modified oil pump new water pump timming belt all new tensioners and all new gaskets heads rebuilt ally lightened and balanced fly wheel with new AP organic clutch I have spent over £12,000, rebuilding this engine . also genuine rally mudflaps and blitz turbo timmer. mobile 1 oil change every 3000 miles and all oils changed 1000 miles ago (gearbox and rear diff). Always warmed up and cooled down, belive in protecting an investment, this is an extremely well maintained car.

The car is fitted with a Cat 1 clifford alarm and RAC trackstar tracker.

sony cd head unit and infinity speakers, not that you would ever use them.

So if it’s a type r your interested in do not miss this opportunity to buy probably the best type r in the uk at an unbelievable price , of £15,000 ono please call me on 07946531006

Please No time wasters or test pilots I will not let anybody test drive car unless I believe they are serious about purchase.

This sounds nice but needs pictures!

Why the rebuild? What's the mileage?

I know that car, I know it very well Used to belong to Darren Soothill, he was the car's first owner, it was also very well known to the original Scoobysport as they did everything to it, hence it's appearance in Car, and in Jeremy Clarkson's videoAt full throttle Where it was driven by Vicki Butler-Henderson against Jeremy in MSD's Escort Cosworth...

It certainly used to get driven as it was intended!

I've got some lovely pics taken from the video shoot...here note what VBH had done to a brand new set of S02's, despite driving with platform sandles with a broken toe

the reason for engine rebuild was big end failure
i bought the car for my 21st birthday borrowed £20,000 of the bank ;-) bought the car and insured it not much change left, had enough for a few tanks of optimax.
About a month and half after purchase i was comming in m1 towards watford at warp speed 9 radio full blast, did not here oil pump pack up and big end go, first i new was when came to stand still at junction to leave motorway and car was out of ballance new something was wrong.
anyway shell bearing spun conrod bent, so it was full rebuild so i got some credit cards and let the good times roll on. Only intended to spend about 2000 but as it went on the cost just sored as a spared nothing due to fact i wanted to keep car forever, spent nearly the price of the car rebuilding and restoring :-( . Got good deal on eagle billet conrods and jp racing pistons from states, roger clarke supplied the rest good man olly ( think he saw me comming spent £5000 on parts alone )
millage is now 70,000 engine was rebuilt at about 65,000 approx and was run in for 3000 miles before even reved to 5000rpm so engine is as good as new along with rest of car.
now the old crank ,conrods and flywheel stand intakt over the fireplace makes great orniment and the old sti EJ20 pistons double up as *** trays ;-) cool

thankyou susan for posting pictures of car the pictures are of the car in autotrader advert.

what do we rekon guys this car is a great buy for somebody i could almost but lifetime guarentee on the engine ;-)

Hi
Do you still have this?
Is it HPI clear? Any crashs?
And are those 330mm's on the front?

Cheers

cheers i know it would have been a disaster after me saying engine was so strong, if i had sold it and this happens . anyway to plan c rev 4 either will sell not running or will just have to park it up and home to have a more proffitable year next year and rebuild it myself but go for 400 \BHB next time ;-)

thought about breaking it for parts but i havent got hte heart.
OPen to offers though any inspection welcome .
