As above, have one for sale.
Plus points
*Fast, comfy cruiser, with lots of toys - electric heated folding mirrors, memory electric seats (memory mirrors too), electric sunroof, electric windows, 6CD / radio / cassette
*Full climate control (works wonderfully well)
*Just had the cambelt changed, along with new discs, pads, and a full service
*Manual gearbox (well, I think it's a plus)
*Total and complete service history (Audi to 115k, then a non-franchised Audi specialist from then on). Every stamp filled in, no expense spared.
* 2 owners prior to me - I've had it for 2 years & 60k miles
*MOT to May 2006
*fitted towbar and electrics, used solely to transport mountain bikes - it's not been lugging caravans
*non-smoker owner
*it's got an interior ambience to die for - one of the best-built cars ever made, and still echoingly stylish
Minus points
*One of the rear windows doesn't work too well. It'll cost £100 to fix. I've never bothered as I've got the climate on, and I actually don't want the kids to fidlle with the windows, so they're electronically switched off anyway
*It's thirsty - 25mpg is a realistic average, but drive it round town constantly and it'll struggle to beat 22mpg. Then again, I've had 30mpg when whizzing down through France, so it depends on how you drive it
*It's expensive to insure (but then that'll not surprise anyone) - cheaper than an Impreza, more than a Mondeo
*It's got 160,000 miles on it. All genuine, and I've got all the old MOTs to back it up, but still a lot, by any measure
*there are some (2 or 3) very small bodywork dings - Tesco acquisitions, I'm sure, and nothing more than you'd expect to see on an eight year-old car, but I don't want anyone saying they weren't fully informed
This was a £35k car when new, but it's been to the moon and back in terms of mileage (feels like it could do it all again, it has to be said), so it's not worth a lot. I'm looking for £3500 (it's up in the Trader for a bit more) because I want it gone. If you want to haggle, give me a shout.
I've recently acquired a 5-series estate (2 kids, lots of clobber), and really don't want to shift the Starship/Panzerwagen (delete as appropriate), but it's too good to be a station car!
I'm based in Hertfordshire, and pics are available should anyone want them. PM me for details.
(Oh, and before anyone asks, I deal in cash only. No bankers drafts, no Paypal, no shipping to Ocumbartosweloland, no half-now-and-half-later. And for any cavassers out there, I'm sure you do have lots of local buyers ready to purchase my fine car - I'll pay you commission when they buy the car, not before)
