Testing the water - 2005 Clio 182 Cup
A copy of the message I've just posted on Cliosport. Mail me if you require any further details or pics...
A series of financial disasters since I ordered my 182 Cup is forcing me to think about selling. I realise that I'm going to lose money but if I can limit the damage I might let her go...
2005 182 Cup in Racing Blue with white stripes, I can provide pics by e-mail but you know what she looks like!
5 weeks old
1600 miles (increasing at the rate of 300 miles/week)
UK Dealer supplied with warranty, roadside assistance etc etc
As new condition, I didn't breach 3500 revs until after 1000 miles.
Price = £11295 or I will consider a part-ex up to 7 or 8 K max.
Any feedback on the liklihood on me achieving that price will be appreciated!

I've just sold the same car (05 reg) to Motorpoint for £10,400 and I had to haggle for that and it was the best price I was offered for trade in (i jumped at that cos they had UK WRX PPP 04 plate for £14,300) :-) .
Well lane offered £11500 but their car was £1k more and an eu import. Most of the other supermarkets will tell you between £9k-£10k. Mine only cost £10,900 new, so I was grateful to only lose £500.
Nobody will pay over £10,500 private when dealers are selling them new for under £11k.
Good luck with it mate.

I recently traded in a 2 month old Clio 182 with Cup packs, and you don't want to know what I got, and it was from a Renault Dealer who has a reputation for being generous.
Going by this statement, I reckon you'll be holding onto it since you can get them brand new for under £11k.

Forgive me for asking chaps, but why buy a car then weeks later you want to sell it? Are these Clio's really that bad, apart from a poor driving position and poor build quality? They have such good reviews in all the car mags, especially their superb handling and driveability!

Not a bad car at all. I was getting 38mpg on long runs, which is nearly double what I'm getting now lol. I just found the driving position terrible, tried changing the seats but it still didn't help. IMO the car is not good for motorway driving (which is mainly what I do) - around town it's ok.

i haven't found a problem with long drives in the wifes 182....it does take a few miles to get used to after driving the scoob which has an infinately better driving position but it aint too bad. There is a little lever that helps a bit..
good little cars to be fair and very potent point to point...pity that they seem to get cheaper each day tho....will be hanging on to ours for a bit due to this methinks
