Hi there, I am finally putting my second, most loved Impreza STI 2 up for sale. She is a 1996 on a N plate. I purchased her off these very forums in around march 2002 if I remember correctly. I bought her with 47254 Kilometres on her (29362 Miles). She hadn't been de-restricted or altered for MPH. Instead the importers simply fitted a new speedo plate........ I immediatly fitted a mechanical MPH converter/de-restrictor from my first scoob that got totalled from behind by a very, very dumb driver...anyway.
Within about a month I had a 30000 mile service performed by Power Engineering with a slew of extras and fitting on of kit from my first beast. She had a very large service at 70022 on the Odo (real mileage 52130 Miles) late last August. I had a 90000 mile servics carried out, the biggest and most expensive service I could have done on her by Subaru4you, who had also serviced my first beast. The clutch was also replaced as well with an Exedy uprated clutch, however was adjusted incorrectly apparantly, so engages quite high up the pedal, but trust me, a lot of good clutch is there and you just need to get it adjusted
.
In between the 2 big services, brakes, fluids and oil have always been changed at regular intervals. Shell Optimax and Millers Octane booster have been used in her from the very first day I owned her. I have a heap of reciepts to show this too
. Steve Lawson (as a lot of the old school on here will know as being a VERY knowledgeable and capable advanced ex STI Subaru mechanic) has known this car very well since I first got her due to being a good friend of mine for a few years now and can back up anything I can say about her on here and Len Carlyon from Subaru4you knows her well enough too now
.
Reason for sale: Although I love her to bits, I ended up doing very few miles in her since last autumn, due to a lot of car sharing with my housemate and other half whom I both work with and also the housemate got caught at 106 on the A31 near us in his MR2 turbo and refused to drive it until his court hearing, 5 months later....... He went back to solely driving his 1.8 Vectra instead.
Suffice to say that the opportunity for some RWD fun with the insurance paid for, no service costs form me and no fuel booster was too much to resist so I used the MR2 quite heavily instead of my beast and it was so much fun being 2 inches off the ground with the worlds hardest suspension
. After his 6 points and £900 fine last month he sold the MR2, unsurprisingly. The other half used the scoob mostly, for local shopping runs etc. As of today she is on 71081 on the odo (real mileage 53189 Miles)
Being good old Subaru butter paintwork, there were quite a few stone chips mostly on the bonnet, but the Valet company have touched up as many of the noticeable ones as they could bring themselves to lol. There are a couple of little 'car park' scrapes, only on lower bumper parts and they aren't really noticeable as they too have been touched up.
Also, due to the accident in the first scoob where we were hit very hard from behind, the other half has extremely back re-occuring back problems and this beast brings them out very well due to fairly firm suspension and a manual box. She now only really drives auto's now but since my new beast has much softer suspension and feels 'fluffier' all round, she is driving her a bit too. Also we are both starting to get on a bit and as much as I love all the looks and comments she attracts, I am actually enjoying 'fluffy' quite a bit
.
This car is not for the faint hearted, she looks mean and she is very, very loud, the Nur spec was loud on her own but with the custom downpipe I got this increased the volume by about 50% in my opinion. You have been warned
. She pops, burps, farts, burbles like you would not believe when warm and flames are not unknown
. Using a basic dB meter placed about 12 inches away from the exhaust, it registered 106dB and went off the scale when revved, estimated at 140dB+. This was of course without the bung I have for her, I have never brought myself to use it for some strange reason..... She has recently been dubbed 'Rolling Thunder' by someone and think that is quite apt for her. I have never been pulled over by the police due to the noise produced by her. A, I am frugal with the throttle whenever they are in the vacinity to minimize the noise and B, it's as if they expect her to have a grumble.
Anyway, enough waffle, onto the details:
Subaru Impreza STI 2 4 door saloon
Red Top engine (Well, was all red before the valet company steam cleaned an already clean engine because they thought it would look pretty and was free....)
Standard STI Forged Pistons
Custom Hayward & Scott decat downpipe going to a 3" join
Blitz Nur Spec R Full exhaust system
Blitz SUS Induction Kit (Not had 1 single MAF failure ever)
Blitz Dump Valve
Blitz FATT DCII Full auto turbo timer (fitted by me from day 1, fully governs how long the engine should idle for to ensure max life and safety), doesn't interfere with remot locking the car etc.
A'PEXi Super AFC Fuel/Air Controller (manual adjust style revision1)
HKS Digital sensor Boost guage (Not guaranteed to work now, as it would appear the unwanted steam clean got into it's electric sensor under the hood, might dry out and correct itself though.....)
Momo Race steering wheel (fitted as I am 6'7" and found the Nardi a tad restrictive)
Momo Gear **** (I actually lopped approx 1.5 inches off the gearstick due to my sheer arm length for comfort)
Ohlins performance suspension and lowered springs
16" Evolution Kreuzer alloys
205/16 brand new Avon ZZ3 tyres (Had 1 single tyre with a nail in it. Left it with the other half to get sorted last month while I was away at a family wedding and she came back with a full set of new tyres........... Actually very impressed with them to be honest)
EBC Black Diamond cross drilled & grooved discs all round (bought new for her and still lots of life in them)
Tar-Ox pads all round (fitted about 3 months ago, again plenty of life left)
Goodrich braided brake hoses all round (fitted when first bought)
STI 6 spoiler
MRO Front airdam fitted
MRO grille fitted
Aluminium bonnet and boot
Clear side and front repeaters fitted.
High brilliance headlight bulbs recently fitted when 1 bulb died
Electric Windows
Electric/Folding mirrors
Aircon/Climate Control
Autowatch Thatcham rated Immobiliser with remote doors fitted
Tracker fitted
I think that just about cover the parts![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Taxed until 31/12, MOT Early January. Remember, this is a 9 year old car, so don't expect her to look 100% perfect, but she does look very good for her age in my eyes at least, especially with the paint chips repaired. I have one niggle on the bodywork that I haven't had repaired due to the fact that I haven't had the time or inclination due to being told it is really very minor. Due to the other half leaving it in supermarket car parks a lot of late, some little SOB either reversed or drove into the front passenger corner of the car and drove off..... This has mildly made the side panel gap out from the bonnet, but everyone has told me that I am pretty well the only one that ever notices it.
I do know that 1 plastic mount on that side headlight has been broken but the light is solid and hasn't changed position. I have taken a picture of this to show you, but again I am pointing uit out so it will seem more noticeable when you know it's there
.
Think I have covered just about everything, loads of reciepts, full service breakdowns, pretty well a whole folder-load of history to give you as good a picture of her as possible
This car is my favourite to date bar none, but we all move on. To this day she has never murmured, mumbled or complained in any way, she has never had any form of breakdown and has started each time, every single time.
I have the entire original exhaust system, complete with cat, standard brake discs, standard grille, possibly the original steering wheel and maybe a few other bits, I will have to look
Finally, onto the pictures taken this evening fresh from the Valeters:
(PLEASE NOTE SHE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE PRIVATE PLATE SHOWN! This is being transferred currently)

Now, the price £5600 ONO for a quick sale. The ONO is there, it doesn't mean free-for-all though
.
Test pilots and dreamers need not apply. I love this car to bits and won't risk her just for someone else's 10 minutes of fun. I also am hoping that she will get another owner that treats her well![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Please feel free to PM me on here or email me on mrfootlong at f2s.com and we can go from there. I would give you my mobile number but I don't use it and I don't know the number
Further down the line I will happliy be available on the phone. I am in Farnham, Surrey.
Cheers,
Nick![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
P.S. Chances are that I have typos in here and have missed some things, will correct when I have recovered from typing all that.
