MY95 STI Type-RA- REDUCED!!!!
I'm cheesed off after being royally shafted by Elephant Insurance and I need the money as a bond on my own pub so it's time to part company with my pride and joy...
For those of you that don't know the standard spec of an STI RA, it is the fastest pre-facelift scooby made. They were all white (bar a few specials), had STI engines (280PS), DCCD (driver controllable center diff), better diffs front and back, and were lighter than standard STIs. They also have a *very* cool rally-slag roof vent! I believe the standard 0-60 on an RA is 4.3, which puts it as pretty much still one of the fastest Scoobies to 60. They are very raw compared to a normal Scoob and the handling is inclined toward oversteer rather than understeer.
The car was imported earlier this year with 90,000km on it, it now has done another 3,000miles on that. I have fitted a HKS turbo timer to it, but I usually prefer to drive off-boost to cool it down. It also has an aftermarket boost gauge.
This one has just had all oils changed (Silkolene), has recently had 4 new coil-packs, a Walbro fuel pump and new plugs. A local Subaru specialist checked it over recently and these were the only things needed to make it perfect according to them.
The car has black 17" wheels (unknown japanese make - very light!) with Bridgestone Potenzas on. It has a lip spoiler which gives the car a beautifully aggressive front (when you see it in your mirror!). It also has an AP paddle clutch, which is surprisingly easy to drive with!
The extras:
The car can either be sold standard, or with:
Subaru 4-Pots with Carbone Lorraine pads.
HKS Super Suction (currently unfitted)
Mongoose 3" exhaust (currently unfitted)
A'Pexi Power FC (never got round to fitting)
STI v4 intercooler modified to fit (again never fitted)
In my opinion the car is very very clean for its age. There is a small very shallow dent in the drivers door and there are some stone chips on the front (mainly the splitter and a few on the bumper - bonnet is clean).
There is no smoke at idle/start/end/revs/overrun - anywhere! No tapping, no knocking this car is mechanically sound. I have just broken another Type-RA and believe me everything that wasn't A1 got swapped!
I will emphasise - this isn't a dock auction heap! It's my pride and joy and I've spent a lot of time and money keeping it that way!
I'm looking for £5500 standard - mods by negotiation.
