Post Breaking a 98 UK turbo engine

Hi everyone,
I've got my old 98 UK turbo engine that I'm breaking. The big end went last June, I've kept the engine this long because I've been battling with the warranty company / insurance ombudsman for a while and was keeping it as evidence, however they won, I lost, I got fleeced!

When the engine was stripped I was told that the contaminated oil had done the rounds so the pistons are knackered, the turbo might be dubious and I’d imagine the crank will need to be taken down a size.

The block and heads are warped but I've been told by a leading scooby specialist that they can be used again after a skim.

Those are the negative points, however all the sensors / inlet manifold etc should be fine.

Block £50
The two heads £40
Inlet manifold £25
Throttle Body £30 (without TPS)
Turbo £30 (probably best to consider as spares or repairs).
Crank £40

I’ve got 4 boxes full of bits so most other parts off the engine should also available (no flywheel, clutch, intercooler), just ask if you are after anything in particular.

E-mail me if you want photos taking.

Postage on top or available to collect from Newcastle area.

Anything that doesn’t go will be turned into paperweights / scrap art!

Cheers,

Chris

Hi,
Graham:
I'm afraid I don't have a header tank.

Chris:
I know the heads and cams are different on a 99 engine, I think the blocks are the same... however it might be worth checking with a Subaru garage (or put a post on the drivetrain / technical forums on here)

Thanks for your interest,

Chris

i would be very interested in a lot of the 'silly bits' if you have them for a 'take them off your hands' deal .

sump + pick up etc
camcovers
rocker covers
all the water and oil pipework attached to the engine.
pulleys, idler puleys, crank sprocket etc.
pretty much everything really apart from the block itself and the heads/cams. anything considered.

not local so would it be possible to take a pic or 2 of what you have?

Mark,
I'll take some photos tomorrow when I'll make a more concerted effort to dig the boxes out.. which are currently behind / under my kit car which is also in bits!

for things like the rocker / cam covers I'll hang on for a bit and see if anyone who wants the heads needs them. But for the other bits 'n bobs we can probably come to a deal.

I'll be driving down the A1/ M1 in the afternoon on New Years Eve if that helps remove postage costs for anyone.
