the z4 like your old ecu (if for the same car) carn't be remaped at all. only ecus after 97 can have this done. the four plug ones carnt. how ever, the z4 ecus are poping up on e-bay quite a lot. you will find it hard to sell it. most people hate the limitor on the things. specially as most put them in the uk ones.

Scoobyclinic CAN re-map (or piggyback...not sure how they do it) the standard ECU on early cars aswell.
Reference the limiter - do you mean speed limiter, as that isn't anything to do with the ECU on early cars.

sorry for hijacking the thead but,
i keep getting told this. but beleave me. its the ecu the speed limitor is in/on. i have a uk 95 turbo, my standard 7d ecu, i was able to get over 140mph easy. i now have a z4. 112mph, i also tryed a w9 one. same again, 112mph. there is a lot of people who dont now that the limitor is on the ecu. + if you use these import ecus on uk cars, you carnt get rid of the limitor like you can on imports. becouse you already have mph, & not kph. i found out the hard way with this.
