PAR/PPG/Quaiffe gearbox, AP 6 pots, engine, FMIC etc
Par Challock gear set (std ratios), with straight cut 3rd/4th by PPG - cost >£2K
Quaife ATB front diff - cost £600
Alll new gearbox internals - cost > £1K
+ labour so cost me over £4K
Would £2K seem reasonable ?
AP 6 pots incl braided hoses, pads - cost £2K
Would £1K seem reasonable ?
Engine:
Cosworth Pistons/rings
Arrow rods and ARP2000 uprated bolts
CR 8.5:1
Baffled sump
GGR uprated oil pump.
Flywheel –billet 5.4kg
Clutch AP uprated organic
Balanced bottom end
Sti uprated engine mounts
Sti4 heads, fully flowed/ported, Sti 4 cams
740 injectors, parallel fuel rails
Cost > £4K (not incl labour + my original engine)
Would £2K seem reasonable ?
TD05/06 Andy Forest turbo, Gems ECU - cost over £2K
Would £1K be reasonable ?
Whiteline adj 24mm front sway bar, 24mm rear sway bar, anti-lift kit, drop links and various bushes.
Bump steer removal.
Forge front strut brace
Eibach springs
Hyperflow FMIC
SX fuel pump, water injection system
Cost about £2.5 K
Would £1K seem reasonable??
Total for the above bits is £7K - OK say £6K total to be really cheap. What do you think ??
I am asking £9K for them, already fitted to a 1998 UK wagon - so that makes the wagon £3K !
There are loads more bits fitted that I have not mentioned, so I reckon

is a bargain.

I have not got the time or facilities to do that - nor the inclination to destroy a fantastic car !!!
Just trying to gauge what the various parts are worth.
I has to go as a package !

Hi Stan
Long time no speak. Hope you are well.
Those 5 sections you've listed sound perfectly reasonable in my opinion. Downside is trying to locate a buyer to purchase a section.
Individual components will sell easily enough but unfortunately not everyone wants/needs to buy all those components in the sections as one sale.

Hi Alan !
I'm fine - hope you are too !
I really wanted to get feedback on my estimate as to what the bits were worth, so I could confirm my estimate of what the car as a complete package was worth. It would certainly save whoever buys it a whole heap of money for what they get !
Thanks for your reply - I appreciate it.
Cheers,
Stan

Hi Stan
The bits are worth that to lots of people, but they want the bits individually so they can put there own mark on their own car as they progress along their tuning path.
It's a bit like buying a house. people want to do things their own way than accept what others have done, whether it's been done the right way or wrong way.
I'd like to sell my own car too but i've got to be realistic in that i'll need to spend a day or so stripping the car down to a bare shell and spend the next couple months selling *all* parts off it to try and get the best return for the money spent out on it.
It's not worth my while attempting to get the car back to a standard saleable car in my opinion. The return for effort just isn't worth it.
The other thing is if i sell the car complete, i don't want to see it again! Can you imagine if someone buys it after all the attention and money you've spent on the car over the years, only to find it gets rattled round a lamp post cause the new owner didn't share the same caring enthusiasm! Not everyone's like that, don't get me wrong, but there are some out there!
I've PM'd a suggestion to you Stan in your quest to try and sell the car complete.
