Does the 980 detect gatso's and if so how much warning do you get ?

yes it does detect gatso's, the warnings depend on lots of things like type of road you are approaching from.

e.g. on long straights you get more warning than you would if it was around a corner.

Its kinda hard to give an average as there is no real average gatso site as such......
