HPI nitro MT2
HPI Nitro RTR MT2 Truck
I bought this just over a month ago and to be honest it was a bit of an impulse buy. My rear garden is quite large and I thought I had more than enough room, sadly its not and I’m finding it difficult to make use of this rather expensive toy. Ideally a field or a play park are the only places you can get full enjoyment because its just so fast.
When I bought the MT2 I could hardly wait until it arrived…. When it did I was so disappointed. Why?? Because the ready to run package its sold as is nowhere near ready to run.
You also need to buy everything in the following list and the prices it cost me are shown so you can see just how much extra you need to spend on a complete working MT2.
Glow plugs x4 £17.00
Glow plug Igniter and charger
Glow plug wrench
Fuel bottle
(the 3 above were bought as a pack for £15.00)
Tornado 20% nitro fuel 2.5litres £22
Air filter oil £ 2.50
After run oil £ 2.50
7.2V rotostart battery pack x2 £15.00
7.2V Tamiya charger for battery packs x1 £8.00
Batterys for servo and RC gear £15.00
You also require the following if you want to enjoy your new toy.
Alloy lower front suspension arms £13.00
Alloy front Damper Plate £8.00
Big Daddy Fuel filter £5.00
Longer silicone fuel lines to prevent engine stall if it lands upside down. £3.50
Complete Replacement Stainless screw kit £15.00
Exhaust deflector £3.50
Loctite £6.00
Tyre Super glue £4.00
That’s £155 quids worth of extras, not to mention the postage costs to get it all home.
Its been a joy to own a nitro RC car and I will be sad to see it go but I just don’t know when I’ll next have the time to play around with it.
You wont be disappointed with this MT2 as it’s in fantastic as new condition, The shell has no cracks and the only scratches are surface from handling and cant be seen unless you reflect light off it at certain angles. I repainted the wheels in orange to match the body of the car as the chrome they originally came painted in started to flake off, which is normal apparently. I would say that my painting skills are not fantastic but I don’t think it matters what you do to the wheels they all go tatty anyway.
It has been broken in properly by following all the steps carried out on the DVD which comes with it and has only had 1.5liters of fuel run through it, there over 2liters of fuel included which is enough for 20+ full tanks that’s 20+minites play time per tank. Essentially it’s a new truck that has just been run in so it really is RTR now!! (ready to run).
£202 all in and delivered via courior within 3 days.

With thanks to MAC76 for a very usefull PM
I am able to send this whole package via a courior for £11.75. its a 2/3 day service other options are avalible but gradually increase in price back upto £20
As i live in the Highlands of scotland next day delivery just wont happen so there is no point in paying to even attempt it. hence why i pick the 2/3 day jobbie.
