FOR SALE: 1998 Black Nissan Primera GT Twin Cam or PX Impreza
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
After buying my new car, my "spare" car is now For Sale/PX. The car is a black 1998 P11 Nissan Primera GT Twin Cam, 2 litre petrol, front wheel drive, 5 door hatchback. 150BHP engine, 0-60 in 8 odd seconds and highly rated drivers car, quite probably a better natural chassis than my Impreza. Would also make a great track car. 111,500 miles - bomproof engine and transmission - the way cars should be built - many of its' miles were clocked up in its' early days on the motorway. Timing chains so no belt to break. Does not look the mileage and will easily do 200,000 miles without any worries. Original retail of the car was well over £17,000, not including the GT LE alloys. I have owned the car for just short of 2 years and traveled down to Norfolk to buy the "right car" - it was worth the journey.
As this is the top of the range GT it has the GT suspension, 150BHP engine (Dastek R/R chart available), GT back and front bumpers, GT side skirts, half leather interior with VERY supportive seats, GT headers, electric front windows, electric sunroof, electric/heated mirrors, air conditioning (needs serviced - not working), power steering, folding rear seats, ABS, rear spoiler, standard front strut brace, Alarm/Immobilser, remote central locking, etc.
Good points:
A bargain at £1500 O.N.O. - would make a great second car (economical to run without being boring), or a great "trade down" from the running cost of an Impreza, with hatchback practicality. I would consider a PX with cash from me towards a classic Impreza (as unmodified as possible) with tax & MOT up to a value of £3500.
Please PM or email me at wrxmania @ V21.me.uk (space added to help stop spam) for any further info or photo's etc. No ridiculous offers please - I am in no hurry to sell the car - it is MOT'd, taxed and serviced and is insured by me until May 2007. The car is in Central Scotland.
I have attached some pictures of it, including one of the bumper repair after the fox incident []

Good points:
- Pioneer DEHP77-MP headunit just fitted with steering wheel remote - high quality unit and attached to good standard fit Nissan speakers (the standard system was Blaupunkt & Clarion)
- MOT and Service just over a month ago. Has, pretty much, a full Nissan service history with lots of stamps in the book and has been lovingly cared for by me, with no expense spared. Also has road tax until 31st December 2006. I have invoices etc for most work done in the last two years.
- Lots of new stuff fitted in the past year including suspension components, new discs (grooved/drilled at the front) and pads (Mintex) all round, new brake fluid, new rear caliper, very good tyres (Yokohama C Drive front @ 5mm and B F Goodrich G-Force Profiler (great tyres) at the rear on 6/7mm).
- Black Nissan 16" alloys from the GT Limited Edition model.
- VERY economical for the type of engine, will easily do 40MPG and averages in the 38MPG zone all the time - why buy a diesel.
- Loves being "driven" and excells above 4000RPM with the variable cam, well balanced chassis and steering and good brakes.
- Air Con needs serviced - not working. Should only need a receiver/dryer (less than £100 fron Nissan - cheaper elsewhere) and a re-gas.
- Bumper has a repaired crack to the bottom of the front valance - looks a bit untidy but is well bonded and rock solid (fox recently had a fight with it ). Could be tidied up by a bodyshop.
- Usual stone chips at the front (and minor "rash" on some chips on bonnet as expected at this age) as well as some of the "car wash" style scratches expected of a black car when in direct sunlight but otherwise the bodywork is really quite good for the age and mileage and has always been handwashed by me, swissol waxed and has a coat of Carlack/Klasse AIO too. No rust on the door, around the bootlid spoiler, door shuts or wings as is often seen on some Primeras. Has been waxoyled, including the engine bay.
- Slight wear to leather seat bolster on drivers seat (not a problem, still sound) and plastic trim inside boot lid edge (in boot) has a break in it. The washer bottle leaks from the filler neck if you fill it above 4 litres Very minor stuff.

I assume you are in wales? I am halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
I drove 900 miles round trip to buy the car - I don't mind meeting the buyer halfway for the right deal - it is worth the trip - a great car.
I am sure we could sort something if you were interested?
PM me.
Brian.

I used to spanner for Nissan & Renault @ Dixons, and I can tell you all, these are a great car to drive, and nothing much ever goes wrong with them.
I think you'd sell it if the car was cheaper.
Good luck.

Thanks for that - what price do you think it should be - it is already 92% less than the new price - now that's depreciation?
Any offers?
Thanks,
Brian.

Thanks for that - it really is a great car and I really enjoy driving and owning it. But I have a new "sensible" car and I want to buy another (sub £5000) Impreza eventually...can't really justify having 4 cars in the driveway!!

Has over 13 months warranty with Olympia Warranties which I believe is fully transferrable. This is VERY comprehensive although I have never had to use it.
