Personally i don't think you have a hope in hell of getting £7k.
Somewhere in the £5k's is my guess

I bought mine for £5,200 so i wouldnt think you would get close to 7k im afraid. Mine also had the Magnex cat-back exhaust and had at the time about 64k miles.

Daz,

Its worth the 7K if its in nice condition mate. Dont listen to these 5K jokers. Put it out at 7 and drop a little when pushed.

If you really want to sell it will need to be cheap. Everyone wants a bargain at the moment and its buyers market. Even good examples need to be be sold cheap in order to sell. If you can afford to wait weeks/months. Then you might get a slightly higher price tag. But personally for me money in the bank today is better than money in the bank in a month of 2.

If its a really good example and you really want to sell then 5-6K is your mark. Advertise at 6K and expect to get 5.5K.

Or put it up for 7K and try you luck (you never know), but personally I wouldnt try on this forum as you can probably guess from the replies aready the feedback you may get.

Err why are they jokers?

they are only helping him out

Saying its worth 7k could mean a few things. The current owner believes its WORTH 7k, market value is 7k, they are selling for 7k etc etc

In this case, and not doubting the car in anyway btw, the owner believes his car is worth 7k. Fair play to him, but the reality of it is, even version 4-5 stis are hard to sell at that price these days since it is a buyers market

Id also say around 5k and go with what Rob has said. Advertise around 6k and expect to get 5.5

good luck

I wasn't joking, thats what I paid for an excellent condition MY00 with 95k and only exhaust mods.

Of course he is most welcome to put it up for £7k - thats his business. I doubt he will sell it for £7k though.

I got my White MY99 PPP 4dr with 45k miles & FSSH for the same price that Rob is suggesting that you may get for yours. It REALLY is a buyers market, these cars are pretty common and as a result, there is a large range of options for the buyers looking which drives the price down in order for people to sell.

Cheers,
Grant

There might be a lot of cars out there - But very few are unmodified examples - These ones will command higher prices than those with mods IMO.

On a side note - I paid 7k for an Untouched MY00 Turbo 2000 6 months ago with FSH, 25k and Subaru Warranty.
I've spent a few quid on a replacement cambelt and put about 7k on.
If I had to sell, I wouldn't take less that 7.5k now and I reckon I'd get it too.

I'd say you're looking early 6k.

Mine had had 60K (major) service and cambelt done by Subaru December 2006. Recently had 67500 serive done by Subaru and by a Subaru specialist in the area, mintex 1177 front pads fitted and 4 wheel alignment. Has 4 good tyres on it Toyo Proxies T1R's and I've not used for track days.
This is why I'm hoping to get closer to 6k than 5k.

I paid 7.5 K for my MY00 Red mica Classic on Y plate, Had 67,000, one owner from new, totally standard and full subaru service history and recent cam belt change. i reckon that was fair as even subaru garages around me a looking for 8K+ for decent classics arround here.

cheers

I have brought and sold a MY99 saloon a good while ago now I might add for about the 5K mark with 68K and a great example and original. I have also brought and sold a really mint MY00 Wagon mint with mint leather for 5.5K and 38K FSSH. Admitadly they sold quickly but thats what it took to sell it.

Slightly off topic:

Tatty 93WRX's seems to demand (not sell) around the 3-5K with suspect mileage history and provinence yet you can go get yourself a MY00 in really good nick with all history, and paperwork in place for 5K.

Its a no brainer for me I would sooner buy the UK example which has 220bhp, V's a suspect 240 or 260bhp on highoctane fuel. ECUtek a UK and you into proper 250+BHP territory on a proper history and solid car.

In the 5K bracket UK all the way for me.

But for STI8 JDM all the way.

Daz, try http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?s=179

This will give you an idea of what prices people are asking for Scoobies. The high milers are about 5.5K/6K but nice example are higher up the price range.

As said by others above, if you want a quick sale then yea put it out at 5.5K but if you are prepared to wait then ask a bit more.

good examples are rare now for classics, especially with no/subtle mods, few owners and low miles.
stick out for 7 if you don,t need to sell , people accepting too low is killing classic prices.
i have a sonic blue w reg MY00 57k 1 previous owner and i would rather let it rot and run to starship mileage than accept below 7k.

Slightly biased opinon as you already own such a car, and will naturally think its worth top dollar, but then you not really wanting to sell it. Selling a car is difficult at the moment and even prime examples will struggle. At the moment most people seem to only want to consider prime examples and rock bottom prices. Anything other than this and you don't stand a hope IMHO.

After extensive trying and expensive advertising. I couldn't sell my VX220Turbo for anything close to what it was worth. It was a truly mint and as new condition car and couldn't be faulted. Yet in order to sell I had to sell it for way under market market. It may have sold eventually for the price I wanted, but its been advertised for 4 weeks now in just about every media and webwsite you can think about. VX220 turbo's are not common like scoobs and therefore you would have thought supply and demand would have dictated I would have got reasonable money for the VX. But no such luck.

I am actually thinking about a late classic UK mylself at the moment as I have cash in the bank having just sold the VX and looking for something to tide me over for a while hence the interest in this post, but I wouldn't be looking to part with anymore than 5K for good one full serviced. But maybe thats just me, but I think you will find anyone in a real position to buy would be the same.

If you are in no rush then try it put it up for 7K and try your luck. If someone likes the look of the car but don't like the price, they will offer you what they think its worth anyway (at Least I would). At this point you can either take it or leave it - Simple as.!
