Ive owned this car for 6 and a half years and spent approx £12k on it in my time. I have every MOT since it was new, the mileage sits at 122k but is in superb condition, It has never had an headgasket go. The head was removed about 4 years ago to have it gasflowed etc and whilst it was off I had the engine inspected and was suprised to see how clean everything was, its been on the rolling road numerous times, if only to check it was still fueling correctly etc. Its an awsome car and has hardly ever let me down. The car was featured in a 7 page spread of Performance GTi which can be seen in the pictures below.

It does have one or 2 issues with the bodywork which you dont really notice until you start to inspect the car, simple stuff like the paint has a few cracks on the bonnet due to it being fibreglass and flexing at speed on the motorway but still looks the dogs rollocks. Easiest way of fixing this is to get a carbon fibre bonnet which I never got round to doing. By no means is this car perfect. The paint job was done about 3 and a half years ago and cost me £2200 at the time. Still looks awsome after a polish, infact it doesnt even need a polish to look awsome. Anyway, suppose your going to want to see some pictures.

send me an email if your interested to davegtt@hotmail.com

price: try me with an offer, I can only say no.

Thanks for looking.

depends really on what your looking for, I ideally want to see £3000 for this (I put offers on here because you'll always get some numpty say £3000 for a reno 5, your having a laugh blah blah so wanted to cut that out ). If you search on Autotrader for one you'll be lucky to find a dog for under 2k. Even on the owners club they all seem to be minimum 2k and they go for anything above that really.

Looks cool mate
I had a Raider some years ago - great little go-karts (although a bit flimsey!)

How come the plates are different to the burnt out picture??

Thanks

The text might be too small to read but the car burnt out was my first GT Turbo I owed and scrapped because of the fire (dont worry I sued the garage I bought it off ) and this is a completely different car

p.s. I have a spare copy of the magazine for the buyer to take with the car

Edd, changed my insurance from my RX7 to this and its due for renewal at the end of the month so got a quote yesterday fully comp for £410 with 5yrs NCB & 6points. Power can be turned down to as low as 10psi to make it nippy but handable. Only concern with giving it a woman is no power steering an 17" wheels makes 3 point turns and car park manouvering akward. Its fine for me but unless your womans butch she might struggle

Never thought of that. Couldn't bare it after the grief she gave me whilst driving my old 205GTI without PS.

BTTT anyway

I had a 1988 GTT with one owner before me. Totally standard, original condition. I got £1,550 on ebay.

So if you want to talk numbers and facts:

£1000.00 for an engine of this standard (Renault do not sell new engines they are recon units and exclude Turbo and assoicated pipe work or fitting)

£1000.00 Car (ropey example)

Respray to this standard £1000

Breaks £180

Twin headlights £150

front mount intercooler £300

hoses £250

wheels & tyres £500

Misc engines bits i.e. dump valve, chrome parts, air filter, carb, clutch, Turbo £'sss

This to me is a very fair price for a very good car in terms of condition and specification, yes you can buy cheaper but then you end up spending more in the longer term putting all the problems right and just keeping the GT Turbo on the road.
