Default '97 P Legacy GT-BSpec Twin Turbo - Manual. Would px or swap for a Turbo Diesel ? WHY?

Guys,

Unforunately my girlfriend is moving to Bolton in the new year, and I simply cannot afford to keep the Legacy, as its 90 miles to her new house from mine, which is a 180 mile round trip. With all my other mileage, id probably be spending at least 120 pounds a week on fuel, im not doing it, I just cant justify it, or afford it to be honest with you all. I'll be more than likely moving there, so bang goes my hopes of buying a Saph or Dazzo's Leggy as a play thing as well.

Im a little dissapointed, as I really do love the car. I just cant win.

I would be intersted in a turbo diesel for exchange or p/x, or something thats definately better on fuel economy ?? Other wise, it has to go for cash.

The car,

1997 Subaru Legacy GT-BSpec Twin Turbo - Manual.

290BHP As Standard
114,000 Miles ( Not KM )
Taxed 04/07 and tested 04/07
Oil & genuine filter changed every 3k - Fully synthetic everytime.
Amazing condition.
Just had FULL service 1000 miles ago.
STI panel filter
Stainless exhaust ( not loud )
Full Bilstein suspension
Air-Con
Climate Control
Cat1 Alarm and immobiliser ( with insurance installation cert )
Knock-Link and Lambda Link fitted.
Airbag
PAS
x4 E/W
EM
Heated Wipers
Projector lights
Remote central locking
Fold away mirror's

Very powerful car, when on boost on the large turbo, it is a very very quick car, leaves a new STi behind at 80mph onwards.

Exterior and upholstery is protected with the Auto-Smart Silver Seal protection

ALL four tyres ( 205/40/17 ) are perfect with at least 6mm of tread remaining.

Drives, goes, looks and handles beautifully. I real head turner and something different, there arent many GT-B Spec Legacy's around with a manual box. I travelled for 100's of miles and eventually I found one.

I have fitted an aftermarket Knock and AFR meter's

Fitted with the top of the range colour view screen Parrot handfree car kit ( works with ANY bluetooth mobile phone )

The boot space is enormous with the seats down flat ( bigger than a Volvo Estate )
Fitted with retractable dog gaurds that are built into the rear seats, a very nice touch.

I have a binder full of stuff wiith the car including service records, parts receipts and Subaru users manuals

Imported into the country in 1999, with the relevant BITMA information sticker on the windscreen.

The car has ALWAYS been run on high octane fuel, I ALWAYS fill the car with Shell V-Power and Optimax previous to that.

I have kept EVERY reciept for Shell high octane fuel for this car since ive owned it.

I also fitted a new MAF meter only 4 weeks ago.

The car is a very, very clean car for the year, I personally think that to find one in this condition being the B-Spec with a manual box at not silly money is quite rare.

Bad Points,

It has a few stone chips and a small rust spot on the bonnet about the size of a 5p coin.

The car sqeaks a little when only going slow over speed-bumps ( common fault on ALL Subaru's )

The power steering is slightly heavy, all it need is a power steering pump, and there a doddle to change. If the cars sells, I can get this done, no problem at all.

And thats about it if im being honest.

Price is £3995 - and its negotiable. If you disagree with the price, please tell me !!

More pics available, just give me a shout if you want any, my email is Rapid7@aol.com

it stands to reason if you advertise for a swap on a predominantly subaru owned forum, you will be offered another subaru
