Anyone likely to buy one will look at Parkers or something similar, and it just doesn't add up.
If you price it over A1, no-one will look. I know the add ons cost a lot, but when you're selling something so old at this time of year, you have to convince people to come and see it.
Unfortunatley the old ones have dropped through the floor as far as price is concerned, and I guess you will be lucky to get 50% of what you paid 3 years ago. (I hope you did not pay more that £12K)
nb (no mileage adjustment for that age)

You are having no luck with the sale as you are asking to much for a uk spec car with high mileage. I have just sold my 95 M wrx 49k miles, full everything and which was mint with loads of extras for only £8k. This car had sold in july for £10.5k the day before the japanese car theft report came out, which then killed the market.
Good luck with selling your car but as with me, you may have to take a kick in the nuts to sell it if in a hurry.
cheers Rob

Tim is spot on unfortunately, I've had people tell me £5500 is too much for my L reg 80k WRX... Now unfortunately the A1 price is dealer price, so Good is usually what you should aim for, Personally I think with some pics and a £6250 asking price (hoping for £6k) would probably get the car sold more quickly. Its a real shame, that values have been hit so hard in the past couple of years...
Anyway whatever you do, posting some pictures will probably help.
Good luck selling
Jon

Looks like im going to lose a few quid on this, but Rob, its not high milage 81K as it is now isnt high,
Now at £6495
its cheap, it runs absolutly top and its a give away, I just dont understand it, I know everyone loses on cars but this is a joke, and its as quick as a WRX without dodgy history

Lee,
just cos people are asking daft money, it doesn't mean that they are actually selling at that price.
The demand is there for second hand scoobys, its just that autotrader/top marques is swamped with cars to supply the demand. If your car ain't selling at £6999.00, its fair to assume its over priced.
The glory days of high subaru residuals are over and with people like me importing new WRX's with 2yr manufacturer warranty(possibly 3) for just over £16,000.00, its bound to have an affect right through the range of second hand cars.
Its a shame but the Scoob just ain't that special any more

The @rse has definately fell out of these, anyway no mad rush to sell now, if the worse comes to the worse then I will part ex at garage but see what happens in 2002.
Still here if anyone fancies a butchers.
Rob Jackson, complete nonsense, you said you sold one for 8K, if mine is too much then yours was as well, yours was a 95 WRX with 49K whish is very doubtful as its an import.

Sorry Lee, dont agree there.
Rob speaks the truth. He was merely pointing something out.
If you need another example, I bought a 93 WRX 2 1/2 yrs ago for £10k, sold it last Chrimbo for £6150. The car was worth more but it was "worth" £6150 because thats all I could get for it. The car was sitting at 280Bhp with a load of mods, yet this was still the "worth" of the car. Bearing in mind this was a year ago to the week, and the market has slumped even more, Id take this into account when advertising an early car.
Its a crying shame and nobody understands this more than me (believe me) but unfortunately its a buyers market, more than ever.
Good luck in getting what you want for it, but my only advice would be, be realistic. In that, I mean Ive seen 2 MY94 UK cars up for £4995.............from a garage, sad, but true.

LOL
Think what you wish, its you who still has the car and wants to sell it. People are simply offering their advice and ten penny worth.
The....Sometimes....Hurts....Truth.......arrange it how you wish m8.
Furthermore, you missed the point, I wasnt talking about a WRX when I mentioned prices: "Ive seen 2 MY94 UK cars up for £4995.............from a garage"
Goodnight
Rich
I personally did not want a UK car over a WRX of that era anyway. Not as quick, no A/C, no Washwipe, not as cheap to insure....oh but you do get a dealer hehe.
Edited to rephrase the point without deducting from the advert.

erm, does have wash and they dont wipe and as in recent meets it does ****e all over WRXs so there. < LOL
Lets not let this degenerate eh? Like I said, ppl are offering advice.
Does have wash??
They dont wipe???? nah lost me m8, assume by the time uve been engaged in some form of alcoholic merryment ;o)
And for the record, if you wish to go down the "my dads bigger....." route, u wouldnt be refering to a WRX with the spec mine had, like I said, it wasnt exactly standard and by your own admission yours is so I doubt there would be any pooing done on ur part on the track
Its horses for courses Id say, Ill say good luck again in selling, just stay frosty Lee.

Hmm, "win the argument, lose the sale".
It's a kick in the teeth for sure but the market is in the toilet, both due to the time of year and the fact that Imprezas are getting harder to insure.
The problem when you get to the £5-6k level for cars like this is people don't realise that the true cost is running the car,not buying the car.
I'm in the fortunate position of having money to spend at the moment and I can take advantage of favourable market conditions, from my point of view.
The only reason that I'm in this position though, is because I took a £5k hit (25%) in 12 months to sell my other car.
Remember the only thing that matters is the difference to change, the headline prices are misnomers.
Merry Christmas all!
Phil

Sorry mate, gotta take exception to your thoughts on the WRX.
Just sold my 95WRX with 64k miles for £7,800, not many callers though.
Private UK cars are usually cheaper than imports, don't forget main dealers ask way more than private but don't sell imports, and after the 3 year waranty is up the WRX is on a level playing field.
People buy the WRX over the UK car because it has a better spec, more power etc to much to list here.
However if I was doing high miles I would buy a UK car with Subaru UK back up. I usually do 6k a year so the WRX is worth the hassle.
As for the nicked cars in Japan, more get stolen over here 10:1.
