1994 Impreza WRX for sale
I have decided to put my Impreza up for sale so that it can be replaced with a car that’s cheaper to run. Looking at Clio 172’s. Anyhow, here are the details:
1994 Impreza WRX (import)
74k miles in UK + 23k km in Japan = 89k in total. (Just read thru paperwork to find that the speedo was replaced and set to zero when serviced over here)
MOT expires July 07, Tax I think is the same.
Car was imported in 1998 and I think I am the 3rd UK owner.
Car is fitted with RAC Trackstar Plus tracker but not connected at present.
Clifford Concept 650 alarm
I will take my head unit from the car so there will be no stereo. However, all speakers have been upgraded. JBL 6 by 9’s in the back, and I think Pioneer’s in the front with separate tweeters.
On the outside I have tried to keep to standard Subaru design to make the car look better. I have added an STI 3-4 front splitter, an STI 6 rear spoiler and Scott Lowe mud flaps. Due to a recent accident with a motorbike the front bumper and splitter were replaced and so are brand new with no paint chips. The general paintwork is pretty good although I believe the car to have been resprayed at some point. There are a few small dents in some of the doors. The paint on the top of the boot is a bit dull but the back of the boot lid is fine.
The car achieved 279bhp and 285lb/ft at surreyrollingroad.co.uk, and has the following modifications:
Full decat HKS Superdrager exhaust
HKS EVC Boost Controller
HKS SSQV – blow off valve
SARD adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Walboro fuel pump
Apexi Power Intake
Apexi Power FC & commander mapped by Simon Roe (jollygreenmonster.co.uk)
STI 5 intercooler
Brakes upgraded to 4 Pots with nearly new grooved disks.
Whiteline Anti Lift Kit, Eibach springs
The car has been serviced by myself for the last 2 years, but I had the cam belt changed at Extreme Scoobies. The oil has been changed every 5k miles.
Probably a couple of things I’ve missed but I can’t sit here forever!
Here are some pictures. I should mention that the front now looks slightly different due to replacement bumper but this is shown below.
I should also mention that this car has a sunroof! Not many around do.
Feel free to ask any questions. The price is £4500 ono which I believe is a fair price for a well looked after and sensibly modified car.
Lastly, I am in Essex for anyone who is interested in looking at the car.

Am I stupid then? I thought to convert kilometers into miles you divide by 8 and multiply by 5??? In fact I am certain that I am correct.

Well, I've driven less than 40 miles in it so far, but I'm well happy with it. I've gone from a 12 year old car to a 4.5 year old one so a big difference in quality etc. The 172 feels quick enough to keep me happy but at the same time is like a luxury car to me. The suspension is pretty stiff but that suits me. I'm 6'5 tall so the only downside for me really is that the seat doesn't go low enough but I am fairly comfortable in there. Ovbiously its a bit of a 3 seater as noone can fit behind me!
Just have to hope that the french reliability isn't an issue.
