there is no way this ad is for real as they havn't been released in europe and if anyone is cought importing them they will be arrested you can't even list these on ebay so stay away from this???????

it it just one contorller, you are right it is Japan ed. but I am sure it can use 110v-240V,and as Japan DVD is region 2 so it can play uk dvd as well. In the system you can choose English language just as XBOX,so if you bought US ed. you cannot play dvd.

None of the PS3's out at the moment will play UK dvd's.
The jap ps3 will play region 2 NTSC dvd's if you put a Uk dvd into it, it says it can't play PAL dvd's which is what the uk dvd's are.

I cannot see how you could get arrested
, As long as duties have been paid to the government, there is no way Sony could do anything, they have been paid for the PS3 wherever it was bought from anyway !!!The biggest annoyance to me is, 'let the UK wait' , seems Sont does the same thing everytime a new product comes out, Japan and USA first ...... UK, you can wait.
I think that Sony are a bunch of tossers myself, if they cannot be prepared to bring the products to the UK, why stop others from doing what they should be doing anyway?

Folks if you want one go on Ebay lots of Black Market ones available. The only one I would even contemplate though is a US spec one that is multi region and should play ALL DVDs. And doesn't have parental control limitations like the JAP ones do and cut out all the gore on some of the games available.
US Specification ones should work in the UK, but even then they may launch UK PS3's that are different again. Its all a bit of a gamble at the moment.
Damn fine bit of kit though, with 60gb Hard drive, Wifi, Blue Rae. Will knock spots of the 360 once its launched properly.
