Exclamation EJ257 Short Engine

In trying to sort my life out I have decided to sell my lightly fettled brand new EJ257 (US spec Sti/MY06 Sti type UK) short engine.

When I bought the new short engine I had Autosportif strip it down to hone the bores to 1 thou clearance on the pistons (as standard these seem to come with wildly varying clearances from none whatsoever to 0.5 thou...not enough for me!) to ensure the pistons have room to expand without going oval and causing piston slap as life goes on. They then assembled my complete long engine checking the tolerance of all the components.

If you buy this short block engine you will get:
  • An EJ257 2.5 litre short engine with bores honed to 1 thou clearance on the pistons with a matched (plasti-gauged to the crank to ensure optimised tolerance) set main and big end bearings - all bearing surfaces were oiled with lube to prevent wear on start up for the first time
  • New RCMS modified oil pump - fitted
  • New water pump - fitted
  • Subaru EJ257 metal composite head gasket (heads torqued down but engine never run) - removed
This engine has done little more than sit in my car for the last 2 years being turned over hand every month or so, before I removed the heads and a few bits to go on another engine I've built up.

The parts alone for this cost in excess of 2000 GBP and then there was the honing and assembly work (which cost around 1k for the long engine)!

I'm looking 1600 GBP plus delivery (or collection can be arranged)
