Price is a little high for the mileage, parkers recommends 3500 for a car with average miles...
The later version with the different bumper, thicker grille and later engine normally comes wtih that dash

Mate, if it's a nice clean car with no problems, it's worth every penny of £3500! It has a new engine for f&ck sake! The parkers guide said my old integra was worth 4K! Funny that, I sold it for £6850.
It also said my old impreza turbo was worth around 4.5K and I sold that for £6950.
And that dash is corrct for a 98 car. I know, I used to have an sti4.

That's right. The dash was upgraded on the MY98 cars, so anything produced after sept 97, will have that dash. If your car has the older style dash with the face lift front end, then its a MY97.

The 'Forrester' Dash in this car is correct for a version 4 (R/S) car which was externally identical to the facelifted version 3 (P/R) cars, also fitted with a phase 1.5 engine.
Version 5 cars had the thicker grill, different Momo airbag, Crystal headlights and [hase 2 engine.
I can recite all the differences between the model years from V1 to V10, but its all written down in the FAQ on Welcome to the SIDC :: The Subaru Impreza Drivers Club :: SIDC
