PS. The front brakes are grooved Black Diamond disks and I am running them with Mintex 1155's. The fluid and hoses have also been upgraded.

Stephen,

good to hear that you made it back OK from Switzerland, although the roads in the NE Scotland are probably not much worse than those in the Swiss alps at the moment!

PS Just brining your post back to the top

mancamefirst,

Sorry it doesn't have aircon but you could have it fitted yourself at a Subaru dealer (or elsewhere) if you wish. It was always a 'dealer fitted option' back in the MY00 days anyway so you would get exactly the same kit as you will find on any other car that had it fitted from new.

As a Dutch import, I got a 1 year manufacturers warranty and made a sucessful claim for an ABS wheel sensor via my London Subaru dealer (ACE Kensington). The warranty is now expired. A UK supplied car would still have 11 months remaining at this point.

The last service was performed in October.

Brooke, You've got mail!

JohnS, Thanks ;-)

PS. I could organise some more pictures next week but it's under a few inches of snow at the momo!

Sounds like just the sort of car I'm after, but it would be a (very) long drive to Scotland to come see it and the lack of remaining warranty on a car this young... mmm....

A good dealer would offer a warranty for around £500 for 3 years!!

I have a euro import and my friendly dealer offered this to me.

Everyone skint after Christmas?

PS. Just in case you don't know, a similar (but UK supplied) car would be on the forecourt of your friendly neighbourhood Scooby dealer for £15k+

Cool

Larry_L,

£14k Sterling GBP's !!!

What planet are you from?

Maybe a LHD (but not RHD)

Maybe an MY99 but not an MY00

Maybe if you bought your FX when the Euro was at it's absolute weakest but the spot rate was moving around quite a bit back then.

PS. Thanks for keeping my post near the top!

Stephen,

Price looks about right. Mate has just bought an EU Import MY00 'X' plate 9000 miler for £13800.

I don't understand the 14k new post - you can't buy 'em new for £14k now (unfortunately!) - so its irrelevant.

Good luck with the sale.

Cheers,

Ian.

Steve,
Are you desperate to sell or can you hang on till Mid Feb?
I've just posted in the wanted area, then I came across yours!
Can you elaborate on the scratches on bumper, and marks on wheels?
Pic's if possible as NE Scotland is a long drive for me.
I'm after a good nick, low mileage 99/00.
Cheers

I'm in no rush but may advertise the car in the local paper before the end of the month.

There are a few scratches on the bumpers (casued by other peoples poor parking mainly) which have taken the paint off down to the black plastic. You don't really notice them too much (as it is a dark colour) but I would have though that a respray was they best solution, rahter than a 'Chips-Away' special.

The wheels are fine really just a couple of light kerb marks and some blackening due to brake dust. I thought about having them restored but then again, the next owner may want to upgrade to 17's so I haven't bothered.

Cheers,
Stephen

Burnside,

Just realised that I forgot to update my e-mail in my profile when I changed jobs a year ago! Doh!

The car is still available.

I have held off advertising it as my brother is trying to sell his car as if he could get a good price for it, he'd take mine.

Keep in touch.
