SCOBY, nah, the 8890's are all locked and will only work on voda or bt cellnet.

Unless there's someone else who can unlock it, I stand corrected.

"tri-band" thats what it says in the manual, haven't been to the US to test it though!

8890 for 70 quid? (blimey thats a deal!)

8890 or 8850 definitely is not tri-band. both are dual-band.

8890 works on GSM900 (cellnet and vodafone) and GSM1900 (used in US and canada).

8850 works on GSM900 and GSM1800 (orange, virgin and one2one).
