Default STI Type RA Version III F/S

My insurance is up for renewal in a couple of weeks and considering a change to something a bit different after owning 3 scoobs and and a gtr. If car doesn't sell will probably just renew the insurance and keep it for another year.........Car was previously owned by a fellow scoobnetter although I purchased it from someone else.

Looking for around £7,000

Genuine STI Type RA 1996 on a P-registration (Version III I think) with roof vent DCCD, lightweight panels etc. Car has covered approximately 24K miles (although first 5-6K or so was in KM before the conversion to MPH). Don't have paperwork with me at work but I think I've got 6 or so of the past MOT's to verify mileage and car has 3 previous owners making me the fourth (think import company was the first at some point in 1998/99). Owned by me for past year and covered approx 5K and I've spent an absolute fortune in the past 12 months. Car had full service when I purchased including all fluids, oils, cambelt, etc. Had a further oil and filter change approx 500 miles ago when the oil cooler was fitted. 12 months MOT and approx 5 months tax left. Car had the following when I bought it:-

Cliffort Cat 1 Alarm/Immob
APS Front Mount Intercooler
GEMS ECU mapped by Steve Simpson of TEG
Full Decat Exhaust
Large Induction Air Filter in Carbon Cold Air Box
DMS Coilovers and various Whiteline Goodies
Lightweight Kosei Alloys - similar in look to RB5 wheels (shown in pictures - car now has 17" P1 Oz alloys) car can be sold with either - I think the Kosei's are actually lighter than the P1 wheels but I just prefer the look of the Oz's. The Kosei's are mint with no curbings, 3 of the P1 wheels are mint with no curbings, one I curbed last week (DOH!!!!!!!!)

In the last 12 months I have fitted the following

Full Service as mentioned above
Uprated Fuel Pump
Large Front Mounted Oil Cooler
Brand New TDO5 16g turbo (running 1.35 bar) Done approx 3K miles
Gearbox rebuild by Zen Performance (carried out in June 07 - only 250 miles done on new box) using type R gearing so slightly longer 5th.
BF Defi's (oil temp, oil pressure and boost)
Scoobyworld mats and mudflaps (STI logos)
STI pedals
Front and Rear Pads changed less than 500 miles ago for Frodo Baggins or whatever they're called
Xenon Headlights - proper kit not just some uprated bulbs, about £350's worth if memory serves. Very bright.

All work/servicing done to the car during my ownership (except for gearbox) was carried out by tweenierob who is a well respected member of scoobynet and 22b.com (well......... he was before he defected to the GTR forum ) I'm sure Rob will vouch for what an awesome car this is.

Car is running approximately 360 bhp (have a dyno printout somewhere) and has ridiculously quick acceleration - I've owned a 550bhp GTR which I sold because the STI was more fun to drive and just as quick to say 80mph. Word of warning, this car is by far the most "hardcore" car I've owned, it rattles, clunks and shakes and the suspension is very hard - a motorway cruiser it aint ! Any inspection welcome, I'm located in Cheshunt Herts or Enfield North London.

Bad points - as usual few car park dings in doors and some dickweed clipped the front bumper taking a small layer of paint off and a few scratches. Back bumper has some light scratches on it but nothing major and only visible close up. The intercooler water spray is hooked up to the front mount and has spray nozels on the bumper but this has never worked and the light on the dash stays on (and yes I've checked that there's water in the tank )

Few pics below which were taking before the wheels and flaps were added, probably missed a few bits but any questions feel free to ask.

Just out of curiosity mate, that td0516g is kicking out some bhp, thought they normally maxed out around 330-340bhp. Wicked if you got 360. Free bump for a top specced scoob. Who did mapping by the way.

WOW, from the amount of interest I've had in this already I think I might have pitched the asking price too low

For those that asked, not really interested in PX at the moment

Maybe Rob will confirm, but i think Rob had the stock turbo on the car when I knew it.
For those looking at this car, it really is as good as it looks/reads and I so wanted it in 2004....

Graham.

Yes Graham, the turbo was stock in those days and just about on the limits of it's capabilities as far as I recall. Rob
