It is time to sell my girlfriends Vectra SRI, it is tax'd and motd, has a clifford concept 650 alarm and immob with cat 1 certificate (cost £350), below are a list of repairs that have taken place since September 2006 costing over £2900 incl the engine rebuild and new ECU - car has only covered 3,500 miles since!.
One of the tensioners failed which damaged the valves and pistons, i put the car in for an engine rebuild and the following has been done since September 2006.
Original Engine rebuilt, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, thermostat and housing, top hose, full cambelt kit incl rollers and tensioners, plugs, filters etc TOTAL COST £1360.00.
The car was running perfect afterwards but then the shield to the waterpump broke which fell off and started to wear the cambelt that had just been fitted, I then had a new waterpump fitted and a new cambelt kit!
I purchased a new battery from Vauxhall in December 2006 which is covered by a 3 year warranty.
Then in February my Girlfriend filled up with petrol from Tesco, couple of weeks later it started running a bit rough a kept hesitating when pulling away and ended up not starting, we contacted Tesco and they agreed to pay for the car to go into Vauxhall's and it had the followng work done - the Fuel tank removed and cleand along with all the fuel lines flushed out and a new fuel filter fitted, it then started but was idling funny, so i had the HT leads replaced along with the Coil Pack, crankshaft and camshaft sensors (AGAIN) all fitted by a Vauxhall main dealer. Tesco paid £340 for the fuel problems but i had to pay for the other repairs costing me £625! This was only a few weeks ago.
The car was then driving fine but something was draining the battery, i took the car to "Middlesex Tuning" and they diagnosed the fault to the ECU, they said it was keeping the main relay in the open position which was draining the battery, they sent my ECU off for repair but they ended up replacing the whole thing, this cost me a further £570.00
I have all the bills for all work that has taken place and all parts fitted by "Vauxhall" and "Middlesex tuning" are covered by warranty.
The service book is stamped upto 70,000 miles and like listed above at 99,000 the engine was rebuilt etc. So since the engine rebuild it has only covered approx 3,500 miles.
The pictures show the condition of the car, the front towing cap was lost (i have a new one but it needs spraying) and the back bumper has a few marks but overall good condition for the age of the car.
We are reluctantly selling the car to fund our wedding which is booked for the first week in October 2007. So it must go.
Please call me on 07886 328 535 or PM me for any questions you may have.
£1700.00
