Ellis,
You can get one from Holand without air-con or front fogs ie- Standard model for £12,900 (metallic).
I've got one on order with aircon & front fogs for £14,000, delivery time is 12-15 weeks.
In the UK they are £15,999 for the base model (non-metallic, no extras)and still have a 3 month waiting list.

Honda 0-60 6.4, top end 146mph
Subaru 0-60 5.9 top end 146mph
Look's like almost equal in a straight line to me.
There is an Induction kit that increases the bhp to 222, get a UK MY01 and the Civic together then, that would be fun to watch.

so thats what straight line means, flat out at top speed!!
Oh, I would so buy a car that I am only gonna do that, er never!
0-60 and back = important
0-100 and back = important
through gear acceleration = important
top speed = what ever as long as it goes over 125!
I think we have hijacked a thread here, but it bumps it back to the top!

Just to add:
CTR01 : 0-100 16.9
WRX01 : 0-100 18.2
The only reason for the difference in 0-60 is that the WRX can 'lay it down' faster.
I took delivery of my CTR01 on 24/11/01, also in silver. Have been grinning since. It's not as quick as a modified Turbo but will give competition to any standard one. Plus the modifications are only just starting out for the CTR, HKS have announced an induction kit in the US that will be around £85 over here + it's a doddle to fit.
See you on-track next year.
Oh, and i-VTEC: Sorry you have to sell, good luck with the business.

I toyed with one the other day they are pretty quick until I went hairing round a left hander that tightens and tightens he got a wobble on and slowed right down I nearly wet myself laughing LOL
#12
whatever!! they do look good dunno yet what they sound like?? a little honda with a big pipe came along side when he went because I was laughing at him it sounded dreadful like a little old fizzy?

Yeah well you got me there!
I had a full decat on my old MY98 and it sounded fantastic from around 1500rpm
The CTR does sound really good but only from around 5000rpm, up until then it's a bit of a sleeper.
Mind you, I can at least hold a conversation now at normal speeds.
And on a serious note, the CTR isn't quite so accessible as the Scooby. It takes getting used to for 'keeping it on the boil' as below 5000rpm it isn't as potent. Both cars have a power band of aroud 3000rpm it's just that the Scoobys is easier to abuse!
I'm looking forward to getting mine on track next year to see what it can do

Green Scooby,
so according to autocar the civic IS faster than a scoob in real world driving.
Scooby 60-100 = 9.6
Civic 60-100 = 9.5
figures have a funny way ofcoming back at you!!!

Oh dear!
We seemed to have hi-jacked a 'For Sale' thread and turned it into a 'my car is better than yours' thread.
Bottom line is that both cars are very close in the real world. They're both quicker than average, handle better than average, and look better than average. I've owned both and been proud to do so.
I'll always give respect to Scooby owners out three (and still have SIDC stickers on my CTR) and hope that any Scooby owners will do the same back
Respect to both they're fantastic.

It is funny how figures come back, especially when you completely forget to mention that Evo magazines figures are considerably quicker on all fronts including 60 - 100.

All this seems to be working.. For a massive saving of 8 grand u can have a car which is almost as quick as a scooby and has better reliability and fuel consumption..
So I-VTEC pwhat do u want for it??

Also since when is going over 70mph real world driving!?
Surely you aren't suggesting we break the spped limit?!
BTW it could be taken as Incitement! SP51 or SP52!!

sorry I forgot no-one ever exceeds 70mph in England.
As far as I'm aware I made no suggestion, I took a set of figures which someone else posted and managed to to get from car 1 (scooby) being quicker than car 2(civic) to car 2 being quicker than car 1 using a set of figures which in it's first format implied that car 1 was indeed quicker than car 2 in EVERY respect.
All I was proving was to back the statement "scooby slaying blah blah blah" so according to autocar the civic could "slay" the scoob. Maybe the advertshould have said "scooby slaying performance (from 60-100 using autocars figures, top speed where allowed etc etc).
Have fun. Anyway my Mondeo is faster as it's got lightweight 14" hubcaps! And a petrol cap that doesn'r open!

Just remember that the Induction kit on this post wasn't one specially for a TypeR! Makes it even more impressive.
It was fitted specially at a Honda tuning house. It will be interesting to see what the HKS kit can do when that arrives on our shores in the spring. In fact I'm going to try and get one when I'm on a business trip to Florida in February
As with the Scooby, the TypeR's have always been left immensly tunable!
By the way John, if I'm talking cr8p here then reprimand me. It's just that I saw a thread on the Honda BBS for this.

MattN,
All I was saying was that your "proof" to back the "scooby Slaying" statement was amusing as you had chosen to use Autocar as your "proof" and not Evo obviously knowing Evo was saying the Scooby was quicker.
Not only that saying Autocar proves that the Civic has scooby slaying performance is also amusing to me when you are talking about 0.1 of a second and worked out the times 60-100 and then calling it the Real world of Driving. If its the Real World of Driving why do Autocar and Evo not have the time for 60-100.
30-50 and 50-70 are no doubt relevant for overtaking situations, I dont remember ever cruising at 60 and suddenly thinking now for some real driving and then giving it the bifta's to 100.
Basically using 60 - 100 as proof the Civic can slay the Scooby is no good, because the Scooby has already beaten the Civic to 60 and would have to slow down and let the Civic to catch up for it to then race to 100, how can that be slayworthy?
Sorry if I sound argumentative, just a bit of Banter!!!
I do have a MY00 and just dont agree that I may be slayed by a Civic Type R. Soz

i'd gladly settle this arguement and challenge any civic type r to a blast, along any terrain straight or twistys.there is no way on earth one of those things would beat a scoob off the lights.
i know who i'd place a bet on winning, no induction mods bla bla, just standard cars against eachother

simon_prickett: You were planning to stay out of this I thought Good point though, Scooby slaying is unfair. Scooby equalling is fairer and even then only MY01 Scoobys! How do you fancy a test run before the next pub meet? We could record and publish the result
mbc: Whenever you're ready!
I've raced an MY99 from the lights and there was nothing in it by 55, problem is then I have to change to 3rd and so he pulled away, then we hit the next lights! Mind you I changed up at 8000rpm, wonder what would happen at the 8500rpm redline?
No-one would even be having this argument if we were talking '01 Integra Type R' instead of '01 Civic Type R' would they?
Please, please will people just accept that they are both stonking good cars with fantastic performance. Neither in standard form is capable of 'slaying' the other. When I sold my MY98 a lot of research went into the replacement, the Civic won simply because it's a lot more economical under normal driving conditions (I now average 34mpg against 25mpg in my Scooby).
Like I said in an earlier post:
Respect to both!
